FOX SPORTS LATIN AMERICA ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO THE ITALIAN SERIE A

 

The unit of Fox International Channels signs a multi-year partnership with MP&Silva, the exclusive licensor of Italy’s prestigious soccer league covering both Spanish-Speaking countries and Brazil

 

 

Rio De Janeiro – January 30th, 2012 – Fox Sports Latin America and MP&Silva, the exclusive international distributor of media rights for the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A (the “Italian League”) through 2015, have signed an exclusive sublicensing agreement for all Serie A matches in all media throughout Latin America and Brazil, starting with the 2012/2013 season.

 

“We are thrilled to have secured the rights to one of the most prestigious soccer leagues in the world”, said Carlos Martinez, President, Fox International Channels Latin America. “As we get ready to launch Fox Sports in Brazil with exclusive cable and satellite rights to Copa Santander Libertadores, in the second half of the year we will have an even stronger lineup, adding the Italian Serie A to Copa Bridgestone Sudamericana and Barclays Premier League.”
