UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – February 9, 2012 – One player from each team goes home with their trainer while remaining contestants compete for letters from loved ones, and viewers get a chance to win amazing “Biggest Loser” prizes in a sweepstakes celebrating the United States Postal Service’s new Heart Health stamp featured in a special Valentine’s Day episode of “The Biggest Loser” airing Tuesday, February 14 (8-10 p.m. ET) on NBC.

Host Alison Sweeney surprises contestants with the news that for Valentine’s week, trainers Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince get to choose one person on each of their teams to go home, and the two people sent home will be the only ones whose weight counts at this week’s weigh-in. But the bigger surprise is that Bob and Dolvett will be going home with them, leaving the contestants at the ranch to go it alone without their trainers.

With the trainers away, one team stays on course with their workouts, but the other struggles without their leader. Meanwhile, Bob and Dolvett gain a much greater understanding of the contestants they went home with by seeing them in their home environments and meeting with family members. Knowing that the two contestants’ weights are the only ones that count this week, the trainers push their players harder than ever, and in one case, to incredible new heights.

Back at the ranch, the red and black teams compete in a grueling beach challenge requiring players to dig their way under an obstacle course of logs with a 200 lb. dummy along for the ride, representing the contestant who has gone home. The team that finishes first gets letters from loved ones featuring the United States Postal Service’s new Heart Health Forever stamp, created to raise awareness and prevent coronary heart disease. Then the trainers and the two players they went home with return for a tense weigh-in before another contestant is eliminated.

The Heart Health Forever stamp will be the centerpiece of a national “Watch it. Write it. Win it.” sweepstakes inviting sweepstakes entrants to write and send letters of encouragement to their favorite “Biggest Loser” contestants over an 11-week period. The back of each Heart Health Forever stamp sheet will list six ways to stay “heart healthy.” Sweepstakes entrants can write to any contestant from the current season, including those who have already been eliminated. Letters will be drawn at random to win one of three prizes: a one-week, all-expense paid trip for two to “The Biggest Loser” Resort, four weeks of “Biggest Loser” prepared meals delivered by the U.S. Postal Service and tickets for two with airfare to “The Biggest Loser” live finale airing in May, 2013. Sweepstakes information will be available on February 14 at Post Offices nationwide and at these links: www.biggestloser.com and www.usps.com/biggestloser.

"The Biggest Loser" is a production of Reveille, 25/7 Productions and 3 Ball Productions. Ben Silverman, Dave Broome, JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, Todd Lubin and Alex Katz are the executive producers.
