CBS SPORTS’ FINAL-ROUND COVERAGE OF
AT&T PEBBLE BEACH NATIONAL PRO-AM BOASTS HIGHEST VIEWER AVERAGE
IN 23 YEARS
Final Round Earns 113% Increase in rating
CBS Sports’ final-round coverage of the PGA TOUR’s AT&T PEBBLE BEACH NATIONAL PRO-AM on Sunday, Feb. 12 (3:19-6:30 PM, ET), which saw Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods paired together with Mickelson firing a 64 to win his fourth Pebble Beach title, averaged 7.4 million viewers (Persons 2+), which is the highest viewer average in for the tournament’s final round in 23 years (1989; 7.7 million viewers; Mark O’Meara winner).
In addition, CBS’s final-round coverage delivered the highest rating for the final round of Pebble Beach in 11 years (5.1/11; Feb. 4, 2001) with a preliminary national household rating/share of 4.9/10, up 113% from last year’s 2.3/5 national household rating/share.
Sunday’s final-round rating peaked at a 5.4/10 with 8.4 millions viewers (5:30-6:00 PM, ET).
CBS Sports' 7.4 million viewers and 4.9/10 rating for the final round of AT&T PEBBLE BEACH NATIONAL PRO-AM was the most-watched and highest-rated final round for a golf tournament, excluding the majors, in five years since the Buick Invitational (1/28/07; 5.3/11, 7.8 million viewers).
