NBA Mobile Web Sets Record for Video Streams
NBA Digital delivered a record-breaking performance during NBA All-Star 2012 (Feb. 24-27) with traffic to NBA.com, total votes for the Sprite Slam Dunk and video streams on NBA Mobile Web.
The new records included:
•NBA.com: NBA.com received a record of more than 114 million video streams and 209 million page views, an increase of more than 40 percent and nearly 30 percent respectively, from last year’s All-Star record.
•Sprite Slam Dunk: The Sprite Slam Dunk contest had a record of more than 5 million votes from fans via NBA Mobile, NBA.com, and Twitter during NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by State Farm, an increase of more than 15 percent from 2011.
•NBA Fans on Social Media: The NBA All-Star Game generated a record of more than 2.5 million comments on Twitter and Facebook, up nearly 370 percent over last year.
•NBA Mobile Web: Overall, total NBA Mobile Web video streams set a record with an increase more than 305 percent during the 2012 All-Star Weekend compared to last year’s event.
Other NBA Digital highlights for All-Star weekend included:
•NBA Mobile: NBA GameTime, ’s mobile application, delivered 1.35 million video streams during NBA All-Star.
•NBA TV: Following NBA All-Star Saturday Night, NBA TV experienced an 80 percent increase in total viewership during the 11 p.m.-1 a.m. ET timeframe compared to the same period last year (220,000 vs. 136,000). Overall, NBA TV provided fans with more than 95 hours of All-Star programming.
•NBA.com All-Star Scene Takeover: Throughout the 2012 All-Star weekend, All-Star Scene had 2.5 million video streams. The site’s All-Star Scene allowed fans to follow real-time social activity from their favorite NBA Players and insiders as well as NBA.com’s exclusive All-Star content.
