NEW YORK, March 7, 2012 -- NBC-Universal’s slow rollout, “Access Hollywood Live,” an entertainment-oriented, hour-long, syndicated daytime talk show, which is now seen in 17 metered markets nationwide, has rolled up double digit ratings gains across the board in the just-concluded February 2012 sweep (Feb. 2-29, 2012).
Compared to the February 2011 sweep, “Access Hollywood Live” is up 11 percent in households to a 1.0/4 Nielsen Station Index weighted average (/share). The “Access Hollywood Live” story is even better in its target demographics. Among women aged 18 to 49 the show is up 20% since the February 2011 sweep, and among women aged 25 to 54 years old “Access Hollywood Live” grew a whopping 33%.
Part of the “Access Hollywood Live” success can be attributed to its growing attraction for viewers in the nation’s largest TV markets. Its ratings are up 10% year-to-year on New York’s WNBC Channel 4, up 22% on Los Angeles’ KNBC Channel 4, and up an impressive 33% on Chicago’s WMAQ Channel 5, all NBC owned stations where it is seen at 11 am local time in each market.
During February 2012 “Access Hollywood Live” hosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover welcomed celebrities including actresses Roma Downey and Joely Fisher (daughter of Eddie Fisher and Connie Stevens), chef to the stars Wolfgang Puck, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covergirl Kate Upton, and “” host Phil Keoghan. On February 10 “Access Hollywood Live” featured a “Victoria’s Secret Valentine’s Day Fashion Show.”
