NEW YORK, March 9, 2012 -- “Extra,” the syndicated entertainment news magazine from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, posted huge audience gains in the just-concluded February 2012 sweep, according to Nielsen Station Index data released today.
In the country’s 56 metered markets, “Extra’s” household rating surged 13 percent over February 2011. In addition, the show was up 14% among women aged 18 to 49 and up 10% among women aged 25 to 54.
- In New York, “Extra” was up 23% over last February to a 3.2/6 rating/share, and was the highest rated syndicated show on WNBC;
- In Los Angeles on KNBC, “Extra” rose 11% from last year to 2.0/4;
- In Chicago, the show surged 69% over last year on WMAQ to a 2.7/7.
“Extra” is hosted by Mario Lopez and Maria Menounos and is now in its 18th successful season. Among the many celebrities featured on “Extra” during February 2012 were actor Nicolas Cage, international soccer star David Beckham, supermodel Molly Simms, and reality TV star Khloe Kardashian.
