After last week's renewals of 18 shows by CBS there are only a few unanswered questions:

  • CSI:NY & CSI: Miami - one will certainly be canceled, maybe both. It's unlikely we'll get any more information about their ratings that would make a difference in any predictions. A shockingly good result from yet to premiere NYC 22 could doom both of them, but that's highly unlikely. I understand the conventional wisdom that CSI:NY is likely the first on the chopping block, but I don't have enough faith in that conventional wisdom to make different predictions for them.
  • Two And A Half Men - renewal held up by contract talks, and almost certainly will happen. Robert moved it down to "Likely". I'm keeping it "certain". Lazy? Or just certain that whatever money issues remain will get sorted out? A little of both.
  • Rob & Rules Of Engagement - If CBS doesn't expand its sitcom time, they're both probably canceled. Even if CBS does expand its sitcom time, it may only renew one as a back up.

No questions left about either A Gifted Man or Unforgettable, they're both certain to be canceled.

  • - certain to be cancelled by May, 2012
  • - more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2012
  • :| :| :| - toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2012
  • :) :) :) :) - more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2012
  •     - certain to be renewed by May, 2012

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

Im sick and tried of CBS canceling the good shows and putting stupid ones in there place.
If they Cancel anymore of the CSI shows the only time i will watch CBS
    Will be to watch NCIS.

  • mackat

CBS keeps 2 and a half men over CSI thats pathetic!

I agree with both cindyrsdu and mackat: If it ain’t broke, DON’T fix it!!! WHY in the world would CBS risk their number ONE network rating by dropping the two BEST CSIs??? I figured something was up when Miami’s season finale ended with Callie’s adopting those two kids, Tom’s starting a new romance and everybody’s happy…NO cliffhangers, nothing. WHY DO IT??? And CSI NY is, in my humble opinion, the best of the three as well as the youngest. Las Vegas has gotten boring; Lawrence Fishburne should never have been let go – he fit right in. Now Marg Helgenberger is gone, too. CBS, get with the RIGHT programs and KEEP New York and Miami both. Vegas is too old. KEEP WHAT’S WORKING – CSI NY & Miami. If it HAS to be one or the other, keep NEW YORK. PLEASE!!

WHY in the world would CBS risk their number ONE network rating by dropping the two BEST CSIs?

Do you seriously think it’s more of a risk to cancel low-rated aging shows than to keep them and not premiere any new shows?

  • Lynne

Not at all, but they can rearrange instead of cancelling; and premiere GOOD new shows.

  • Holly

OK, which shows (with higher ratings and therefore making more money) should be canceled to save the CSIs?

  • Virginia Pretz

What would possess CBS to cancel ANY CSI Show??? They are the BEST! CSI New York is the HIGHLIGHT of Friday Nights along with Blue bloods…CSI Miami is the perfect finishing prime time show for Sundays!..DON’T “FIX” what is NOT broken! Ever think some people have switched over to the computer to watch these very shows???? LEAVE IT ALONE!! We LOVE ALL THE CSI SHOWS!

  • len

My favorite shows are CSI NY & CSI Miami. If you only go by ratings, take into consideration that CSI NY was off the air because of basketball tournaments – don’t judge a show that was pre-empted. CBS needs to take a really good look before cancelling either of these shows.

  • sue

I can’t beleive they are canceling csi shows! It’s rediculis. I live for those shows. Please reconsider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is the best show in the world you cant do this its not fair please please please have a heart and don’t cancel it you will lose so many viewers if you cancel them no one will watch your other shows and those ratings will go down please please if you need ideas for CSI NEW YORK have Danny and Lindsay have another baby that would make the ratings go up and besides Callie just got those two kids have her and Delko get together and raise the kids please don’t we all beg of you if you cancel them you will be making the worst mistake of you life these are the best shows please please please DO NOT CANCEL them

  • alejandra

im going to miss a gifted man, and csi miami was just getting good no need to cancel them these shows are really good they shouldnt cancel theses shows because of low ratings just renew them and make it interesting please dont cancel these shows :( please

  • pat

Please don’t cancel csi Miami or csi NY they are the best. Let good wife go before those 2 please please

  • Nicole Antoinette

Say it aint so, not my CSI Miami! Come on! You keep the dumb shows and cancel the good shows! That’s ridiculous! Really 2 1/2 men! That is a big steaming pile of horse manure!

  • Ginny

I agree with Nicole. Do not cancel this great show. You change the days & times, and they don’t have a chance. People can’t stay up after a stupid football game and they don’t watch it. I Dvr it and have to Dvr the 11:00 news and reruns of criminal minds because of the football game . Please put csi Miami back at a normal day & time.. Don’t cancel please…

  • dotti rogers

I will really miss Horatio and Mac and all of their friends, if, indeed, they are canceled!!!!
