‘Vampire Diaries’ is Number Two Among Women 18-34, ‘Secret Circle’ Rises

Last night’s VAMPIRE DIARIES was up in total viewers (2.7M) and key demos versus last week, +5% in W18-34 (2.0/7), +8% in A18-49 (1.3/4) and up 6% in W18-49 (1.7/5). It was even in A18-34 (1.4/5).

TVD was also up versus the equivalent episode last year (4/7/2011), +17% in A18-34 (1.4/5), +5% in W18-34, +8% in A18-49 and +6% in W18-49.

TVD ranked #2 in the hour, and The CW was #2 from 8-10 p.m. last night among W18-34. TVD again out-rated ABC’s Missing in A18-34.

THE SECRET CIRCLE was also up week to week in total viewers (1.7M), its most watched episode since 2/9/12, and held even in key demos. Versus its time period last year (Nikita, 4/7/2011), it was up in W18-34 (0.9/3) and W18-49 (1.0/3).

This season, TVD averages a 30% gain in total viewers when Live + 7 data is counted, versus Live + SD, a 43% increase in W18-34 and a 37% jump in A18-34. THE SECRET CIRCLE jumps 48% in W18-34, 45% in A18-34 and 36% in total viewers.
