CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION” POSTS ITS BEST FIRST-QUARTER DELIVERIES IN BOTH HOUSEHOLDS AND VIEWERS SINCE 2009 AND IS FIRST IN ADULTS 25-54 (TIED WITH NBC)
FACE THE NATION IS ALSO UP +5% IN HOUSEHOLDS AND +3% IN VIEWERS, COMPARED TO FIRST QUARTER 2011
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION posts its best first-quarter deliveries in both households and viewers since 2009 and is first in adults 25-54 (tied with NBC), according to Nielsen most current ratings for Dec. 26, 2011 to March 25, 2012.
In first quarter 2012, FACE THE NATION averaged a 2.2/06 with 3.09m viewers and a 0.8/04 in adults 25-54. FACE THE NATION is also up +5% in households (from 2.1/05) and +3% in viewers (from 3.00m), compared to first quarter 2011.
On its most recent broadcast, on Sunday, March 25, FACE THE NATION posted a 2.1/06 with 2.98m viewers and 0.7/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. The CBS broadcast was up +5% in households (from 2.0/06) and +2% in viewers (from 2.91m), compared to the same day last year.
Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +5% in both households (2.1/06 from 2.0/05) and viewers (2.99m from 2.85m) and +14% in adults 25-54 (0.8/03 from 0.7/03) compared to last year. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in adults 25-54 (tied with NBC).
On the broadcast, Norah O’Donnell substituted for Bob Schieffer and interviewed Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.).
FACE THE NATION is broadcast Sundays (10:30-11:00 AM, ET; check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer. FACE THE NATION is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television. It premiered on CBS on Nov. 7, 1954.
