It's certain that CBS will cancel A Gifted Man and Unforgettable, as well as at least one of the CSI offspring (NY or Miami). More sitcom time could save Rules of Engagement and/or Rob, but without it, they're both likely gone too.

Two and a Half Men will certainly be renewed. It's just a matter of settling how much Ashton Kutcher will get paid. Somewhere between a lot and a whole bunch is my guess.

The Renew / Cancel Index above includes results beginning January 2, 2012. How did CBS' shows stack up based on their Fall results? Click here.

  •     - certain to be renewed by May, 2012

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

i’m from China, there are hundreds of thousands of people talking about The Unforgettable. Why does CBS cancel such a good program ? Can CBS sell its copyright of broadcating on the Internet to China like NIKITA?

  • Beth

Keep Gifted Man and Unforgettable at least, they are new and somewhat fresh ideas. Dump Rules of Engagement, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, Rob, Mike and Molly and Either of the CSI, just how much joking and poor taste skits can you take about sex, cheating, sleeping around time and time again… it is all done in such poor taste. At least CSI has some drama to it with the who done it factor. The Big Bang Theory is even past getting old…it was sooo funny before all the sex junk got added… all the tension between the straight guy and the one line come back routine was a hoot. Why do all shows have to go to the gutters to try to keep their ratings? It is a mystery to me. I guess it’s just shows the mind set of the people that make the decisions and write the material for Joe Q Public to watch and so called entertained. We must all take a stand and turn off the tvs and read a book, listen to some good music or spend sometime with our family doing other things when these programs come on that are not even fit for adults to watch. Maybe someone will start paying attention.

unforgettable is a great show with poppy and dil .keep the show get rid of all those realty ones ,they are so fake ,anybody with half a brain could see those people who are smiling when they know its a make believe part .

  • Aimee

Why would they cancel a quality show like “Gifted Man” I look forward to Friday evenings that I out off dates, and activities just so I can be home Friday nights and watch Gifted Man. this made me tune in to CBS because they have the shows that I like watching like Hawaii Five-O, Mentalist, A Person of Interest, the Good Wife, Letterman, I never used to like CBS at all ever… !!!! Until these shows came up. I don’t watch the rest of them.
I don’t even like Two and a Half Men with Ashton Kutcher. I like it when it was Charlie Sheen. There was a sheen to the show. YOU ARE MAKING A STUPID DECISION CANCELLING THE GIFTED MAN. For once there is a decent show at CBS. Put it back on.

  • kate

If “A Gifted Man” is cancelled….there won’t be a damned thing to watch on CBS. Thank God for ABC, AMC, TBS, Lifetime and ID. You’ll be sorry CBS if you get rid of “A Gifted Man”.

  • Sara

Please don’t cancel A Gifted Man, I really enjoyed the show and he is from my hometown. We are all so proud of him.

  • Mary

Quality shows like A Gifted Man and Unforgettable make for great television. What are these networks looking for in viewers. I am so sick of all the reality shows…please rethink and give these shows a chance…

  • Kathy Albert

A Gifted Man is one of the best Prime Time shows on Friday nights. In fact, is probably one of the best shows on Prime Time period! It’s a clean show that is meaningful to all audiences. Why is it that mainstream channels feel they have to have shows with more violence, sex, and crimes? What messages do they want to send our children?

If A Gifted Man is cancelled, I’ll be very disappointed in CBS’s decision.

  • Audrey

A Gifted Man is the best show to air in a long time. I cannot believe it would be cancelled. This needs to be thought out. Cancel some of the “reality” junk that is taking up so much air time. THIS SHOW SHOULD BE KEPT ON!!!

  • Bowser

Why would they renew Blue Bloods? It’s a dull, tritely written vehicle for Seleck as a grim Father Knows Best, with Grampa echoing his words.

  • Shon

I think Rules of Engagement alongside with Unforgettable and The gifted man should be canceled instead of one of the CSI’s. I don’t think that these shows are able to bring up so many viewers for much longer…
Thank you CBS for renewing great creations like BlueBloods, Hawaii five-0, NCIS,and The mentalist. I just hope you plan to renew all the CSI’s as well.

  • Adisra

I’m a viewer from Thailand, and I LOVE ‘A Gifted Man.’ I watch it every week through the cable in Thailand. I was just talking to my sister who lives in the US that I really liked this series and that I hoped that it would not be cancelled. But my sister just sent me an email today saying that it has been cancelled. A Gifted Man is one of the greatest shows I have seen lately with gifted actors and actresses, particularly Patrick Wilson, and great storyline. There are not many good shows to watch now, and the ones that we really like have been cancelled again and again. WHY? I’m really fed up with ‘reality shows’ and silly comedies. Please renew it.

  • bill jones

I like gifted man a lot, would like to see it continue.

  • Fran

PLEASE DON’T CANCEL A GIFTED MAN.I really enjoy the characters and would
very, very much like to see it return! So sick of Reality Shows. This one
needs to remain on the air.Enjoyed the show very much. I hope CBC gives
    it another chance. Thanks

  • ron

It would be really stupid to cancel a gifted man. This show was a really close second fovorite of mine next to the mentalist. It sounds like lots of others agree with me so I dont even know how the show couldnt be getting bad ratings. But maybe if cbs cancels the show nbc will finally get smart and pick it up. I like cbs a whole lot better than nbc so they should wake up an keep a gifted man on.

  • Venus

I am an older adult. I have not and will watch any of the reality shows, which includes Survivor, DWTS, The Voice, etc.
BUT, I do enjoy a well written and well acted drama that relates and speaks to an older generation. It is difficult to find these types of programs that do not demean the human intelligence, unlike Two and half men, Mike and Molly and How I met your mother. With this being said, why then would you cancell two wonderfully written and well played shows such as A Gifted Man and Unforgettable. I have enjoyed these two shows since the begining. I have even talked to people who have not seen them and suggested they give them a try…which they have and have enjoyed them too. The writers are great and the actors/actresses are superb. It is difficult to find shows with such wonderful talent. I am asking that you reconsider cancelling these shows. You have NOTHING else on worth watching Friday nights. You will force me to go else where for entertainment if you proceed on cancelling A Gifted Man and Unforgettable.

  • Missi

I too loved A Gifted Man!! My husband watched it also and he doesn’t watch much TV anymore. We want it back!!!!

  • Steve

I think both Rob and Rules of Engagement are toast, although I do love Rules of Engagement but it had a great run.

That frees up an hour slot………………..

  • anna

You must be kidding!!!! Cancelling my 2 favorite shows the gifted man and unforgettable…
We need to keep this show!

    Please don’t cancel .

  • bunny

I love Gifted Man.finally a show that is not silly and childlike. I also like unforgettable if she would stop acting so snotty with the people she interviews. Again could we please have a show on that is not a reality mess. I think most people I talk to are getting sick of reality shows. If the soaps are becoming reality bases. Dumb.
