Two seasons ago I was cheered as Melrose Place brought back the lovely (and my age peer) Heather Locklear in an attempt to save the ratings challenged show. Sadly for fans, we know how that ended.
The return of Sarah Michelle Gellar (just a child compared to Heather and I) in Ringer was certainly hoped to draw some Buffy-like ratings magic. Sadly, that's going to end in the same result. Ringer is likely to be canceled at the end of this season

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

Yes Ringer’s pilot got a good sampling but since then has steadily dropped viewers. Those viewers are highly unlikley to return to the show.
The number of viewers outside of the key demos are insignificant. That being said it currently has the second lowest number of viewers. More importantly Ringer currently has the lowest demo ratings and therefore does not justify a renewal.
GG, 90210, SPN, Nikita are all older shows than Ringer they may have premiered this current season lower than Ringer’s pilot but they all currently have better ratings and more viewers (not GG) than Ringer. Shows decline over time. Ringer is a new show and already bottom of the pile.
HOD may have premiered lower than Ringer but it is currently doing better than Ringer.
When it comes to TV shows there are no second chances, shows rarely if ever come back for a second season with higher ratings than previously. Ringer is not going to miraculously gain viewers or demo next season.
All shows go on breaks. Ringer may have had a slightly longer break over the holiday period but it has had a straigt run of new episodes since then. Meanwhile all other CW shows have been on and off for weeks at a time since then. Not to mention the fact that Ringer was on a steady decline before it went on break before Christmas. Its last episode of 2011 was at a 0.6 already.
Lastly you keep going on about how all the other shows on the network have descended yet have failed to notice that Ringer may have had the biggest descent of them all-in viewers and demo. If you are using this arguement as a reason to save Ringer then I’m sorry but its just piss poor.
The CW dont have much reason to keep many of its shows it has even less reason to keep Ringer.

Ringer fans, do you seriously think they are going to pick it up for a second season and cancel 90210 instead? I’m laughing really hard.
According to other sources I’ve read, ANTM is the only officially renewed show.
The only official cancellations are OTH , and H8R
The ones in trouble (On the bubble) are Heart of Dixie, and Nikita
The ones with a strong chance of renewal are TVD, Supernatural, Ringer, Gossip Girl, 90210, and secret circle
Out of those the ones more likely to be cancelled are the freshman shows, but Ringer is most likely of the two freshman shows to be renewed. The rating for secret circle were a huge disappointment compared to TVD
So this is what I think will happen

TVD- RENEWED
SUPERNATURAL- RENEWED
90210- RENEWED
RINGER- RENEWED
GOSSIP GIRL- RENEWED FOR FINAL SEASON
NIKITA- CANCELLED

@hades i wasn’t looking for any arguments (sorry to disappoint)i was stating why i think that ringer should be saved and other shows shouldn’t because if i didn’t people would ask why i think ringer should be renewed so i gave a fair reason along with shows i think should be cancelled and my reasons for that… and after what you said i agree with alot of it and makes alot of sense that maybe ringer should be cancelled with most of cw shows… because most of them are doing pretty bad…
Ringer’s twists. & turns are suspenseful! Don’t cancel it! If you’ve consistently watched….it’s great viewing!

I fully agree with Courtney!! This show is good and it should not be canceled. There aren’t a lot of really good shows on anymore, you finally find one u like and they want to cancel it.
I don’t think the Ringer should be cancelled either, It was very slow in the beginning but has since picked up. I will be disappointed if they cancel especially after tonight finale. Hart of Dixie just sucks and how Many remakes of Nikita are there gonna be? At least Ringer is Original. I’m a huge GG fan but agree that the story lines are just bleak, there’s nothing leaving you wanting more. Ringers not everyones cup of tea but at least its not another Vampire/supernatural reach, thats really getting old.
I LOVE RINGER! i dont understand how terrible shows like 90210 and all that stay up! UMMMm hello? THEY SUCK! Ringer is amazing! the problem is its on the wrong network also… They dont promote it enough and they have it on a tuesday night! Everybody knows if you put a show on a tuesday its gonna FAIL! They need to pull it out of the shadows and put it in the sunlight like a Wendsday or a friday and I PROMISE do all these and the ratings will go up!
I was shocked to learn that tonight was Ringer’s last show. No warning!! I loved the show and couldn’t wait each week for it to come on. Now I’m reading that it won’t be back. So very disappointed. Surely there was a better way to close the show if that is true. If Ringer doesn’t come back I won’t be back either. What a sad way to leave the Ringer fans.

As far as ringer goes, they should make one more episode just for closure. I love this show but I just don’t see how they could make another season. They can only come up with so many decent conflicts. If they did something like what they did with Life Unexpected and make one episode just to tie up all loose ends that would be great.
I love Ringer, I hope they bring it back. I love all the twists and turns. Please don’t cancel it!!!!
