    Sarah Gellar gets paid alot of money for Ringer.. she got a good deal out of the CW network from this, the CW got absolutly nothing but large costs out of this one.. No other network would be conned into such large star demands for such little in return.

  • Lucy

    Cancel 90210 and bring Ringer back!

  • Liz

    Wait, Ultima is a guy?

  • Beckham

    @ Liz

    Pretty shocking right. I thought he was a girl too. Someone told me to think of him as Ultiman now. My advice is that you do the same :)

  • Nick

    Wow, you writers are getting lazy. No “Adjusted” in the title? Just “Up” and “Down”? Not to mention “the Boiggest Loser”.

    @forg, sadly The Middle’s prospect of being renewed is much greater than LMS, as The Middle reaches the 88 episodes needed for syndication next year. I love both shows, but that is why LMS is not definitely renewed. It could help that it used to get a 3.5.

    As for Body of Proof, it could be renewed, if Scandal, GCB, Missing, and/or Private Practice sink, and if ABC does not expand its comedy block.

    I think the best policy is what SciFi tried to do with BSG. Split the season into two parts (Fall and Spring), and when you do air the episodes do so consecutively (no breaks in between). For example…

    NCIS starts in Mid Sept. It airs it’s batch 10-12 episodes in a row with a fall finale occurring near thanksgiving… The show can then take a break or air repeats until the spring. December is dead anyway, so CBS can schedule a short reality series that will last 6 weeks…. When the show comes back, it stars with repeats in January up until the middle of Feb. (Traditional Sweeps periods are done away). Late February, you launch the Spring premiere with the next batch of 10-12 episodes. CBS might take a week off for NCAA, but otherwise no interruptions till the Spring Finale in early May.

    ala Bill Maher, New Rules … If you allow a series to end a season on a cliffhanger, you must bring that series back for at least 6 episodes to wrap up all the lose ends or at least fund the filming of those epsisodes to be added to the final DVD release. I’m tired of series not getting picked up after ending on a cliffhanger.

    Help save Endgame and watch season 1 on Hulu

    No.. networks do not care about ratings. Ratings are important because advertisers use them to decide how much they are willing to pay for a commercial spot (Money). Money is the only thing that networks care about. If a network could make “enough” money on a show despite its ratings, the network would considered keeping it….

    @ eridapo

    I think that method might actually work. If a network does air ten to twelve episodes consecutivley then people can’t use the excuse that they didn’t know the show was on. It’ll be easier to keep up with episodes and the ratings will be more stabilised.

    Ahhhh spring, time to think about fishing & camping which is why NG, LMS & NCIS:LA are adjusting up tents … which actually works for LMS.

    My guess is BOP will be back at some point. Why end a series with an ending that is not clear. As someone mentioned no show on Tuesday at 10 for ABC has done any better. it’s one of the few network shows I watch.

    Breaking In won’t be back. More New Girl repeats are replacing it. Was stupid to renew it in the first place, hope a lesson was learned.

  • Here Comes the Pain!

    I hate New Girl but Zooey Deschenel looks hot in that picture.

  • John A

    Kinda stupid to pull Breaking In for New Girl repeats when it will get the same or lower than breaking in.

    @The Kennedy Games

    I don’t think it’s Sarah Michelle Gellar’s fault that Ringer didn’t do well, she did not con The CW!

    @Rebecca (and others)

    I also liked last night’s episode of Raising Hope (for the most part), and was also shocked by the ending.

    Of course, when I read (in the zap2it TV listings) earlier in the day that the title was “Inside Probe” I was hoping (as a big “Earl” fan) that Geraldo Rivera would reprise his role. I mean, I’m no huge fan of the guy in general, but he is absolutely perfect for his role on “Earl” (and the “Seinfeld” finale).

    (I have no idea who the person who replaced him is, though I infer from her expression on that one bit of dialog that her main claim to fame is being kicked off dancing with the stars.)

    I would think the ratings for an episode would be more dependant on the quality of the previous weeks episodes, not the current episode. I mean, how is somebody to know if it is a good episode until they have watched it?

    So, at the risk of beating (eating?) a dead pig, I believe the ratings for this episode probably suffered from how bad (in the opinion of certain viewers such as myself) hurt the ratings for the rest of the season. (I know I almost stopped watching, even though I have seen every episode, and many two or three times.)

  • Crazy Eye Broyles (AJ)

    lol, you don’t know who Nancy Grace is? Yes she was on DWTS but that is absolutely not her one claim to fame. She is a CNN anchor who is a former prosecutor. She is controversial to say the least.

    *facepalms at ratings for Ringer*

    I forgot to mention (got sidetracked by Inside Probe thoughts) the main thing I was going to say!

    Even as I was watching the episode I had some queasiness regarding how the events really couldn’t have happened if you have watched the early first season episodes multiple times (as I have). In fact, the scene in this week’s episode where Jimmy appears to be surprised by her pregnancy (when she tries to get him to talk to the baby on the phone through the isolation window) kind of contradicts the scene from the pilot where Jimmy first meets her and sees the baby.

    No big deal, but I’m really worried about how next week they are going to explain how she really wasn’t executed (I keep thinking of that great episode of the new “Outer Limits” from the 90s starring the spongbob show voice guy but I don’t think they can use that angle… or can they?).

    I guess I get queasy worrying if they are going to (further) change things that alter the wonderful first season. (I still claim they changed where Wyatt went to college [from “out east” to “up there”] without explanation!]

    I wish they would stick to flashbacks from prior to the pilot, not pseudo-retconning what we have already seen. I absolutely love all those flashbacks — including the fantastic first season finale!

    I’m praying and hoping that my queasy stomach is wrong, and this year’s finale will leave me with as happy and warm feeling as last year’s.

  • NealR

    @Crazy Eye

    Okay, now I can (somewhat) place her. Thanks! (You have to remember, as I’ve mentioned before, that some of us, such as Rebecca and myself, don’t have cable. I’ve never seen CNN except maybe in the waiting room at a doctor’s office or something.)
