    @rhodyguy, LOL, so true! I like to read everyone’s opinions, because I find many of them are very insightful and entertaining. The writers of these soaps need to come hear and read what we have to say, but I know that is wishful thinking and they would probably be too scared, LOL!!

    Thank you Mr. Frid for all those wonderful moments on DARK SHADOWS — my first venture into daytime drama.

    @Jeff

    Of course they dropped. They were in reruns. When The Chew is back with original episodes, it will beat again The Talk as it always does.

    Since they were both in reruns and dropped, it will be interesting to see how the soaps did esp. since the ones that air against them won’t have that competition last week.

    It was cooler here last week than it has been so maybe it was elsewhere too. Maybe that drove some people back inside.

    When I think of the old GH leading ladies I think of Jessie, Audrey and Lesley. They were all likable, hard-working women who despite tribulations and scandals were always someone you could root for. Now all we have is Carly and maybe Sam. Carly should be the lead villainess and someone more relatable be the lead female (like a Laura or even a Bobbie). Somewhere along the way the show definitely lost it’s ability to write for strong, decent women. Even someone like Lulu, ostensibly a lead good girl, has in the past year gone undercover in a brothel and now wants to go undercover as a stripper — and for all her talk of family hardly sees any of them, including her infant nephew Aiden. Bleech.

    Monica has hardly enough family left to be a matriarch, and same for Lesley or Audrey should either of them resurface.

    @EJ, I only know of Port Chuck because I read the soap mags, but I checked out their website after I suggested the cross-promo & they have video that looked pretty good. I’m also a big music fan. They seem to have a variety in their sound & mostly do covers. On their video they covered Linkin Park. I was surprised how good Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) sounded. If they came to town I might check out their act just for the heck of it. I think they have video on youtube.

    Also, I agree that GH needs to get back to the core families.

    @sofaspud, you have some great points. I used to be a big Carly fan, but now I am just so sick of her! When Tamara Braun portrayed her and when Laura Wright first took over the role, and when she was married to Jax, she was still tough but had that sweetness to her that I think TPTB could have capitalized more on and she was also more connected to her family like her cousin Lulu, her mom Bobbie and her uncle Luke and even her kids. Now she has gone back to her selfish and snarky ways by sleeping with Johnny, another mobster, ugh!! and you no longer see her with any of her family anymore unless it is a quick liner or something. RC said he is a fan of GH’s family histories, so why he isn’t going back to that is beyond me. As for Lulu, the previous headwriter, Garin Wolf was going to put her in a storyline of her becoming an alcoholic, but am so glad that got dropped when RC came along. Glad to see her working at the PCPD because she can use her Spencer genes of crime solving, like Luke and Laura did, but her wanting to go undercover as a stripper will be a disaster since all that bad stuff happened at the brothel and she isn’t a cop just a file clerk. RC needs to end some of these ridiculous storylines because they make no sense and it makes the character look really stupid!

    I saw Port Chuck at the Hollywood Christmas parade on TV and they didn’t sound bad! They do alot of covers though, but I am sure they would be fun in concert.

    Y&R – Put Adam and Sharon back together and I’ll watch the show again. Until then,…..the show sucks.
