As CBS' late season drama replacements typically do, NYC 22 arrived with a resounding ratings flop on Sunday night. It is certain to be canceled.
But that won't help A Gifted Man or Unforgettable, they're still certain to be canceled. CBS will want three hours free for new dramas next fall, and there's no room on their schedule for those ratings losers.
CBS will also cancel at least one of the CSI offspring (NY or Miami). More sitcom time could save Rules of Engagement and/or Rob, but without it, they're both likely gone too.
The Renew / Cancel Index above includes results beginning January 2, 2012. How did CBS' shows stack up based on their Fall results? Click here.
*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.
Notes:
-
- certain to be cancelled by May, 2012 -
- more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2012 -
- toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2012 -
- more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2012 -
- certain to be renewed by May, 2012
The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

quote from HIMYM [4.16]:
Marshall: No, no, Ted, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. It would be the fourth worst thing. Number one, super volcano. Number two, an asteroid hits the earth. Number three, all footage of Evil Knievel is lost. Number four, Ted calls Karen. Number five, Lily gets eaten by a shark.
Lily: I’m Lily and I approve the order of that list.
I think A Gifted Man should stay

Van Pelt: Hey, how did you know Billy was having an affair with the teacher?
Jane: They both had leaves on them from their make-out spot in the woods.
Van Pelt: And?
Jane: Plus, I could tell she liked him. She was meaner to him than the other kids. You know, like Lisbon is to me.

@tvfreak
But you know what that means now, of course….others amongst us will take down NCIS now, lol. I was only doing it because it’s low on votes. Once there’s a comedy in the Victor’s Village I won’t vote on any more CBS shows.
Please don’t cancel NYC22. That is a great show. Just like you should not have cancelled Detorit 157.
Please don’t cancel NYC 22. It’s a great show. You already cancelled Detorit 157, that was a great show
@Debbie Martin: First, it’s Detroit 187. Second, that show was on ABC.
A gifted man is such a great show…if they actually gave it a good time slot it would likely take off…I will be really sad if that show doesn’t make it!
“More sitcom time could save Rules of Engagement and/or Rob, but without it, they’re both likely gone too.”
Since there will be 5 sitcom slots (if and I’m sure that Two and a half men will be renewed) there must be a sixth sitcom.
Even if CBS gets a new show, Rules of engagement can air as a mid-season replacement as they usually do.
So my bet is that Rules of engagement is certain to be renewed.
It also has an advantage against Rob because of syndication.
- Kennith, what do you know about revenge?
- Well, the Bible says it’s wrong but it’s the surprise hit of the season on ABC so…

@Justin121
I’m running out of CBS and Fox quotes myself.
Do you know any CBS quotes? I enjoyed the Kenneth quote from 30R but it’s only really good for NBC and ABC.
Voting in the Elimination Game now closed on this thread. It has carried over to the newest r/c index thread on the home page. Check for new rules on page 2 of the comments there.
The Good Wife quotes are incredible.
Will ook them up.
