The end is near, but not near enough for my headline writing imagination in these weekly CW posts.
Writing these posts with no new news and the same three at risk shows in the headline has made it ever more difficult to come up with something new. Instead, I settled on something the Google searchers will appreciate.
Don't suggest I headline a post with "Something Will Be Renewed". Relatively nobody searches for that.
The Renew / Cancel Index above includes results beginning January 2, 2012. How did the CW's shows stack up based on their Fall results? Click here.
*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.
Notes:
-
- certain to be cancelled by May, 2012 -
- more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2012 -
- toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2012 -
- more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2012 -
- certain to be renewed by May, 2012
The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

Tonight is Ringer’s Season/Series finale. Ringer, you will be missed.
Bill, you must feel really bored creating the same list weekly. With no news or anything to update for the CW lol.
Looking forward to the end of Ringer tonight (and I mean in a good way since I like the show).
“Bill, you must feel really bored creating the same list weekly. With no news or anything to update for the CW”
Nevertheless, the search engine gods require regular sacrifices to keep our crops growing!
Cancel Ringer & Hart of Dixie. Give Nikita final 13 episodes.
LOL! Nice, Bill. TheCW is the network that keeps on giving with its dreadful ratings.
Ill really miss Ringer. Sure it wasnt a great tv show but so much fun with its ridiculous plots. Hope it gets a 0.6 for its finale.
Ringer – CANCELED
Nikita (F) – CANCELED
Gossip Girl – RENEWED (13 episodes – final season)
Hart Of Dixie – RENEWED (13 episodes)
90210 – RENEWED
The Secret Circle – RENEWED (Friday)
Supernatural (F) – RENEWED
One Tree Hill – CANCELED
Vampire Diaries – RENEWED
My predictions on what will survive on The CW:
Ringer – Cancelled
Nikita – Cancelled
Hart of Dixie – Cancelled
Gossip Girl – Swan Song Season: renewed for 13 eps
90210 – renewed
The Secret Circle – Tentative renewal for 13 eps, option for the back 9.
Supernatural – Renewed
Vampire Diaries – Renewed
America’s Next Top Model – Renewed
As much as I hate to admit it, the prediction for Ringer seems a little optimistic at this point.
“Ringer” was the best show – ever – on The CW, but it should have been on CBS from the get go, and there it would have been a hit (hence, “A Gifted Man” and “Unforgettable” should have never been aired at all in my opinion).
Nikita will get renew Ok Dont hate!
Ringer – Cancelled
Nikita – Cancelled
Hart of Dixie – 13 episodes
Gossip Girl – Final season- 13 episodes.
90210 – Renewed
The Secret Circle – Renewed, but Mark will definitely move the show to another night.
Supernatural – Renewed
Vampire Diaries – Renewed
America’s Next Top Model – Already Renewed
Bring back Reaper!
Ringer – CANCELLED!
Nikita – MORE LIKELY CANCELLED/OR could squeeze a 13 episode renewal.
Hart of Dixie – CANCELLED!
Gossip Girl – Final season- 13 episodes.
90210 – Renewed
The Secret Circle – Renewed, but Mark will definitely move the show to FRIDAY if they cancel NIKITA!
Supernatural – Renewed
Vampire Diaries – Renewed
America’s Next Top Model – Already Renewed

“The cast of Ringer seem really confident about a season 2!”
They always are. There is simply no reason not to be (in public).
srsly??! is this list final? nikita cancelled??! C’m0n! atleast give them s0m epis t0 wrap things up! its n0t bad!!
1. nikkia renewed 2 hart of dixie cancelled 3 ringer renewed 4 gossip girl ( final season) 5 supernatural renewed (final season.the seceret circle renewed. 90210 renewed. The other two renewed. Hart of dixie is really going to be cancelled.
The only shows that tend to get a final season order of 13 episodes are long running shows like One Tree Hill and Chuck. Hart of Dixie, The Secret Circle and Nikita are either on their first or second seasons and probably wouldn’t qualify for a “Final 13″. One of the few precedents for a newer show getting a 13 episode 2nd season would be something like Dollhouse that was renewed for a second season (22 episodes) then saw the show canceled and its order reduced to 13 episodes. Gossip Girl is probably the only show on the CW that would get a 13 episode final season order at this point. The other shows would likely just be canceled outright.
