Hannity is scoring big numbers since he started running his “Vetting Obama” spots!

  • Ralph Hahn

@Ratboy: Hey, dude! Hannity is getting big numbers while Greta pretty much holds most of that audience during the 10pm et hour.

    Dick Clark, RIP.

(Carried over from Monday’s Cable TV News page)

@Coffee Steve: I loved watching Dick Clark when “Bandstand” went national and aired at 4:30pm on WABC-TV CHannel 7 in NY. I watched it after school every day (after homework, of course).

While still a youngster, I set-up a table in my room similar to the “Bandstand” set. Remember that half-circle logo with AMERICAN BANDSTAND written on the curved part? It was authentic as I could get it.
Funny…since I had created and produced a political talk show locally, I went for the “Charlie Rose”-look. Black background, round wooden table for host and guest(s).

I occasionally watched “Bandstand” when it went weekly on Saturdays. But, as the ’70s approached, I liked “Soul Train” better.

He was a great game show host. I enjoyed watching “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve” show, but I hated the West Coast “live” act shows that were likely taped months in advance.

In all honesty, the one show that I DIDN’T enjoy was the Blooper show with Ed McMahon. To me, it was like “Hee Haw.” Programming for the lowest common denominator. It the novelty had worn off, it didn’t take a genius to figure out that these so-called professional and amateur at-home “bloopers,” were created for the show.

To yet another of my heroes from TV’s earliest days. Dick Clark, RIP.

    @Ralph Hahn

I’m all showered and about to leave, I did read your post in the other room, and enjoyed it. Dick Clark is the standard by which all will be judged by, just as a Group called Alabama of Country Music Fame is the one I credit for making Country Music maim stream, Clark made Rock and Roll acceptable to many parents to let their kids (Me Included) be ok to watch Rock and Roll and listen to it.

I have never heard one bad thing from anyone about Dick Clark.

I’ll be back about 9PM after church and class, take care everyone

The TV quiz show that must always be identified in the form of a question: what is “Jeopardy!?” (and yes, just like Yahoo!, an exclamation mark MUST always follow the noun) has announced the roster of “Power Players” who will appear on the show next month. The names include Anderson Cooper, Thomas L. Mustache, Kelly O’Donnell, Katty Kay,Dr. Oz, Chris Wallace, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, David Faber, Dana Perino, Robert Gibbs, Chris Matthews, Lizzie O’Leary (who?…I follow the media assiduously and I’m not familiar with her; had to read the bio provided), Lewis Black, Clarence Page and Chuck Todd. Now I’m sure some Foxbots and dittoheads will claim that “Jeopardy!” tilted the playing field to liberals, but I’m sure that the producers would L-O-V-E to have a prominent ultra-extreme far-right-wing lunatic on the roster…especially since they almost always portray themselves as experts on EVERYTHING. But just as the males in this cohort who were draft eligible a few decades ago managed to skip having to serve, today they WOULDN’T DARE appear on “Jeopardy!” and expose their actual ignorance. And remember…during these celebrity-fests, the questions are easier than during the regular contests!

    “Vetting Obama” spots!

Where was his “vetting Bush” or vetting republicans spot? They mess up and do bad things just like Obama….but where is that spot at on Hannity…or anywhere on Fox for that matter….?

  • AppleStinx

Tsk, tsk. Some people just can’t let a fun event (Jeopardy Power Players edition) be about fun.

  • Mark

    Tonight’s ratings will be huge.

The Obama dog eating scandal is only growing with Michal Vick now condomening Obama.

Michael Vick: “Yo Obama, you iz crazy. Even I didn’t eat my dogs after I killed ’em.”

  • RealityChick

In order for this country to move forward we need to get rid of the garbage in Washington. There’s an old saying ” A fish rots from the head down”. Start with the WH and work your way up and down the levers and throw them out. We did it in 2010 and can do it again in November. Send the message people are fed up.

That’s funny, were were people complaining when Keith Olbermann would do his BUSH-WACKED or his McCain in the Membrain schtick…..

  • suikostinger

Wow, the right and Glenn Beck ( he actually has it up on his website where Obama is eating a hotdog and instead of a wiener it’s a wiener dog) are making a big deal that Obama ate a dog when he was a little kid in a country where they eat dog? I’ll NEVER eat dog even if it is in another country, but who cares? That was YEARSSSSSSSSS ago and his mom and dad got it for him….yet they attack him for that? They defend Romney for putting his dog on the top of the car 24 or so years ago…a man knowing that’s not right did this and you are going to defend that but attack Obama for eating a dog when he was a little kid. People need to get the f*ck back on topic and stop whining about small sh*t like this. The right (and only 1-2 people on the left) do this ALLLLLLLLLLL day EVERRYYYY day in here. Ratboy, REM, and Dana is just ot name a few…get back on topic and off these dumb ones that you guys come up with. :) <—– smiley face means I'm not yelling.

Who in the right mind quotes or watched keith O and took him serious? People in here quote f*cking Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck for christs sake. Stop listening to these wackos on FN, MSNBC and these shock jocks and come up with a thought on your on and stop regurgitating things people sayi that make millions by saying crazy crap like that….

  • suikostinger

  • UpAndOver

Obama is now the $5 Trillion Dollar man….

  • Ralph Hahn

@RealityChick: >>> In order for this country to move forward we need to get rid of the garbage in Washington <<<

Sending Obama back to Chicago is the main goal. How can he consistantly lie to the American people and blame the Republicans ALL the time?

The headlines help spread the BS. Tell me, how can Senate Republicans hold up or kill a Bill when the Democrats CONTROL the Senate? They have more than half of theirs on the Senate floor. Yet, Democrats are voting AGAINST Obama bills. The same people who could have tilted the vote to their side of the aisle. But a few Dems are allowed to vote against the President because they are in swing districts. Why doesn't Obama level with Americans and explain the truth?

More double-standard: Obama allows an attack on Ann Romney yet he jumps up and down because someone had taken his wife Michelle to task for turning the White House East Room into a gym. Plus, Michelle is leading the "Nanny State" by telling Americans what they shoudl eat and shouldn't eat.

Of course, there are exceptions. But as we move closer to the conventions and November, the Democrats are becoming more despicable, each and every day.

You tell the same lie to citizens, people start believing that lie. Like the so-called Sarah Palin joke about being able to see Russia from her house, when it was actually spoken on SNL by Tina Fey who was doing her "Sarah Palin."

You can't blame the Republican-led House for no U.S. budget. The House passed a budget. No blame from Obama is being placed on Harry Reid who leads Senate Democrats. He hasn't put the House bill up for a vote and won't pass a Senate version. With Obama, it's his way or the highway.

That's enough I'm going to say about politics today.

  • suikostinger

Obama allows an attack on Ann Romney

allows? Didn’t he say he didn’t condone it……twice?

You tell the same lie to citizens, people start believing that lie. Like the so-called Sarah Palin joke about being able to see Russia from her house, when it was actually spoken on SNL by Tina Fey who was doing her “Sarah Palin.”

But she DID say you can see Russia from Alaska….but you can only see it on a VERY remote island where no governor or president has been in over 50 years. And what the hell does being able to see a country from your state have anything to do with foreign policy? lol

Ralph…you are a FN watches, don’t even pull the “You tell the same lie to citizens, people start believing that lie” because FN is tied with MSNBC as king of lies.

  • DB

suiko, trying to get on Nancy’s good side by using vulgar language? Hope it gets you what you want. Also you of all people ( man of costly muffins and blood tests for people who weren’t drinking) are telling us to stick to more important topics–irony galore!!! BTW, it was the libs in the media who made the dog on top of the car a big deal so eating dog is fair game I think!

  • betty

President Bush was very-very well-vetted, but EARs was NOT and that’s the mess we’re in but will soon be out of!
Latest headline; “EARs ate a Bitch.”

  • suikostinger

BTW, it was the libs in the media who made the dog on top of the car a big deal so eating dog is fair game I think!

Really? So obama eating dog as a kid many many years ago in a country where it’s a cuisine is the same thing as a grown man putting his dog on the roof in a kennel….you have a weird mind DB…but we already knew that.

To your other point…I don’t get my news from shock jocks. I don’t get my news from Fox News like most people in here I don’t get my news from MSNBC…that was my point good sir DB. That’s what I was talking about. If knew anything about reading comprehension you would be able to tell what I was getting at by doing that with what I typed….

Oh my!! I used vulgar language by putting stars in between the letters F and C. Go down play someone else by calling them idiots and retards DB, that’s the only thing you can do in here. :)
