About Magic City:

Set in Miami’s Miramar Playa Hotel leading into the new year of 1959, hotelier Ike Evans (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) conjures up ways to finance his dream.  He has essentially sold his soul to the devil, mob boss Ben “The Butcher” Diamond (Danny Huston). Ike’s wife Vera (Olga Kurylenko), a former showgirl, and his three children think he is an honorable man, but he just can’t break his pact with the most dangerous criminal in town. His life is a façade.

WHO:                    Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen, “Grey’s Anatomy,” Dibbuk Box); Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace, Max Payne); Danny Huston (The Kingdom, Children of Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine); Steven Strait (City Island); Christian Cooke (Cemetery Junction); Jessica Marais (“Packed to the Rafters”); Yul Vazquez (The A-Team, American Gangster); Dominik Garcia-Lorido (City Island); Kelly Lynch (Drugstore Cowboy, Charlie’s Angels) and Elena Satine (Just Go With It).

“Magic City” was created by writer and executive producer Mitch Glazer (The Recruit, Scrooged), who grew up in the glamorous, ominous world of late 1950s Miami Beach, frequenting the lobbies of iconic hotels such as the Fountainbleau, Eden Roc and Deauville. Geyer Kosinski (Changeling, The Astronaut Farmer) also executive produces the series along with co-executive producer Ed Bianchi (“Deadwood”) and Emmy Award® winning producer Dwayne Shattuck (“Mad Men”).

WHEN:                   Friday, May 25, 2012 beginning at 9pm ET/PT.

    Good show.

  • John

Why the hell is this boring waste of time renewed? The characters are not intresting or developed, the writing is laughable and it rips off far superior shows like Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire. What do morons see in this show?

  • Magee

I LOVE this show & it just gets better and better. By number 3, I was really hooked. I’m not a moron for watching it. I happen to be a professor of history and love the mixture of high style, great story telling and turbulent mid century American Miami history and cool Jews.

  • Steve

Other then it’s set several decades back this show is nothing like Mad Men or Boardwalk Empire.

  • Veronica

Disagree with the negative comments. This show is fabulous! The characters are well developed and the series quality is on par with Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire. Some of the same people produced these shows.

  • Mark

Completely disagree with nay-sayers….two thumbs up….we are hooked! Must say that the visuals are breath-taking.
