You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Lets be realistic a new show like scandal that opens season1 with struggling to get a 2.0 is bound to fail … PP always was a greys anatomy baby that people tend to watch. but what we learned last year is that the highest rated episode was not the greys pp crossover but the charlotte king focused episode.

    AN Impressive 3.9/11 for that episode season 4 high while they had a 1.9 season low episode as well.

    My opinion is the show needs to get rid of all male actors except cooper and get rid of addison baby storyline and focus more on her surgical abilities which is the thing we all (haters or admirers) respect about Addison Montgomery. OFC Charlotteshould also get more interesting storylines.and for gods sake they should all upgrade the practiceto a more seattle looking like place. my 2 cents…

    RINGER is the best drama show this season ! AND THE FINALE WAS EPIC !!!
    We Want RINGER 2 !!!

  • harry

    private practice season 1 episode has 5.1/13 and 14 million viewers , scandal had 1.9 with 2m… abc fails to launch new good shows lately…

  • harry

    7m* not 2 sry

  • badman

    body of proof had better ratings than private practise after dancing with stars began! maybe BoP still has a chance..?

  • The End

    @IsraelCD

    Ringer Season 2 would only happen if the last half dozen episodes had a huge increase in viewers, which stayed with the show till the finale.

    Basically if your show drops to 1.3 million and the last 6 or more episodes saw an increase to say 1.8-2.1 million CW would likely renew this show without a doubt.

    Your show needed a big increase in viewers, and needed to hold those viewers to move from certain to be cancelled to bubble/likely renewal.

  • johnb

    Please bring back Cougar Town and Ringer!

  • UK-International

    The overall ratings for TV series are falling in the US in line with the numbers a british drama gets on a british broadcast network levels. Sherlock, Spooks, Hustle, Downton in the UK get between 5-10million. Shows on Fox, NBC and ABC seem to fall to the same levels on regular bases? Does anybody think you will reach the levels of 12-17million a night?

  • Frenchviewer

    I’m Still hoping ‘Ringer’ will get a second Season. It’s an amazing Show with Wonderful Actors !!!

  • alexjones

    @kyle okay maybe ringer is doing SLIGHTLY better than hellcats was, but only slightly, it won’t be enough to save it.

  • mem002400

    Ringer was awesome last night and am really hoping for a season 2 just because she found out her sister still alive we need to find out where that goes SEASON 2 PLEASE CW

  • Sophia

    “And for the people saying that Ringer is pulling out the same ratings of Hellcats, let’s not forget that Hellcats ALWAYS had as a lead-in a new episode of ANTM/OTH and their series lows are very different:”

    And let’s not forget that even when Ringer HAD it’s 90210 lead in, it would still get 0.4s.

  • tvfreak

    Well, well, Raising Hope ended its season on a slight uptick. Good, especially after the ending. I was so scared that it would end badly for everyone involved, particularly when queen bee-otch Lucy went after Sabrina with a knife – and then she gets mowed down by Smokey Floyd’s tour bus, being driven by David Krumholtz’s blind guy! Wonderful way to bring back lots of hilarious characters of the day, too. All around a very good episode. :D

    In other news, while seeing NCIS I saw the preview for the upcoming H50/NCIS: LA crossover special – hope that one gets high numbers, preferably at the expense of Smash and New Girl.

  • Oneeye

    Sweet series finale for ringer! Kind of going to miss it a bit but nice wrap up.

  • Rebecca

    @tvfreak
    Yeah, this household greatly enjoyed that RH finale. Would have been a good series finale, too, if we didn’t already know it has been renewed (still happy for a new season).

  • LC

    Hopefully ABC will now analyze the timeslot of 10:00 on Tuesdays and see that multiple shows have struggled there for years now. Body of Proof has done the best in this slot yet all they talk about is cancelling it. It is a great show. My guess is Revenge would not have made it in this slot and as much as I love OUAT, it probably would have failed here. The 18 – 49 group does not watch at that as much on Tuesdays. People older than 49 DO watch but they are not even thought of as living by ratings lords and networks. It is all about advertising. Yet if people who buy don’t really watch that much at a certain time slot, then the show that can best sell their products should be put there. I really hope that ABC rethinks some matters and gives both Body of Proof and Private Practice one more season. Put them back in their original time slots.

  • tvwatcherer

    Haha Glee! That’s your fault for shoving Blaine down our throats! Even though last night’s episode wasn’t about him, but it was still just a filler episode. I also blame the unnecessary 7 week hiatus.

  • Spencer

    @colt13
    that is what I said

  • MindyZ

    Private Practice is dead.

  • SarahL

    The headline made me think that Ringer finale had done well. Ha. I should have known better. Because it can never been said enough, TheCW is a pathetic network.
