Nancy Pelosi Wants to Change First Amendment to Allow Regulation of Corporate Speech
The bill in question is called the “Peoples’ Rights Amendment,” and its goal is to explicitly allow Congress to regulate corporate speech however it wants:
Rep. Donna Edwards (D.-Md.) explained the basic principle this move to amend the Constitution is advancing.
“In Citizens United, what the court said is that Congress has no authority to regulate this kind of political speech,” said Edwards. “And so all of these constitutional amendments go to this question of giving Congress the authority that the Supreme Court, I think wrongly, decided isn‘t within Congress’s constitutional–our constitutional purview.”
Harry Reid is THE ORIGINAL “Grumpy Old Man.” Not just content to scream at his neighbors’ kids to “get off my lawn,” he’d likely sue the parents as well.
It’s funny that Dickie Smothers played Reid in “Casino.” Before becoming a U.S. Senator, Reid was head of the Nevada Gaming Commission, which approves or rejects casino operations in Lost Wages. He turned down “Sam Rothstein’s” (played by DeNiro) application for a license in the film.
Earlier in the film, you see Smothers (supposedly as Reid) escort a long-legged showgirl to a comped room with cocaine.
As Tommy Smothers always said to his younger brother Dickie: “Mom always like you best!” lol

Leon Panetta: US military planning for greater role in Syria conflict
The Pentagon is “reviewing and planning for a range of additional measures that may be necessary to protect the Syrian people,” Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Thursday, with top US military planners using the recent US intervention in Libya as a potential template for action.
@Coffee Steve
U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told a congressional panel on Thursday that the Pentagon is providing “nonlethal aid” to the civilian-led opposition in Syria and that it is preparing additional measures if it becomes necessary to help protect the Syrian people.
Key word “nonlethal aid”. He stressed that point.
Russia may allow something done with IRAN but no way with Syria. That is their main foot hold in the region.

Good link, and while I don’t think ground troops will be used anytme soon, I bet ya Russia and Iran tries to expand this, guess we have a new chess match coming.
How long do you guys think Erin Burnett has before CNN cans her?
Are we in the final days?
What would CNN have to pay to buyout/terminate her contract?
@marvin
Problem is CNN’s entire lineup has been stagnate for months, it’s not just her, Frankly I am puzzled by CNN’s downfall and cannot understand how the exec’s there keep allowing a once great powerhouse to remain below average.
I hope someday they get their glory back, it would be nice to have all 3 get back to more news oriented
Funny how the Republicans are selective when it comes to the Catholic Church stances on issues
