Well so much for Nikita beating Supernatural in viewers.
Supernatural does great business for the CW on Friday! I can’t say the same for Nikita, which is rather unfortunate because the recent episode was TOP NOTCH! Maggie Q gave one hell of a performance.
WHOO HOOO!
Grimm adjusted up! 1.4 is right within it high range of 1.4-1.6! Grimm is just getting awesomer and awesomer
Yay Grimm and Supernatural!
I guess this is an illustration of NBC’s decline, but Grimm is considered a success in its first season with the same kind of ratings Supernatural was getting on the CW in its fourth and fifth seasons. (Granted it wasn’t on Fridays at the time, but it was in the most competitive slot in television, up against the #1 and #2 shows on TV.)
Basically NBC is sinking to CW levels, and the CW is sinking to subCW levels.
Ooh, SPN went up. So, no record lows for it this week.
HoD is doing surprisingly well. I bet that’s why the CW has been waiting so long, that and the pilot season, to announce anything. I don’t watch it all, but were I network exec, I’d seriously consider keeping it due to the relative stability of its ratings, coming off such an awful lead-in.
I don’t know if they’d cancel TSC for late drops or not (though they did it to Hellcats). They might use its previous good ratings as an excuse to cancel both Nikita and GG, and just move TSC to Nikita’s slot. Scheduling problem solved without too much carnage.
OT: But i just watched season 2of DOllhouse and I checked out its numbers,
went below 2 million viewers plenty of times on friday night on Fox.
Fringes numbers are bad, cancellation bad, but it could be worse…could be Dollhouse Worse
@Michael
Maggie Q gave one hell of a performance.
I caught some of it, and I was really impressed with Maggie Q. She’s a much better actor than she appeared to be at the beginning of the series. I remember seeing some complaints about that back then.
I haven’t watched the series so I don’t know, but is it possible Nikita was deliberately written as being a fighting machine in the beginning, and her character arc was to become more human?
Yay for SPN! It’s funny when I tell people I watch SPN and it’s one of my fav shows, they ask what channel it’s on. I say “CW” and they just stare at me blankly.
suck it Spn haters!! it grows froma crap lead and do better of secret circle on friday!!
Happy dancing for SPN!
Yayyy SPN! The first week back from hiatus’ always seem to be the worst (or so it seems to me) so hopefully we won’t see a drop next week. I will take another 0.7..and cross my fingers for a 0.8.
Oh Nikita. 0.4. Your repeats have been pulling 0.4′s.
I can’t see TSC moved to Fridays next Season if it is just recently pulled a 0.5 on a Thursday following TVD. It would crash and burn on Friday.
I want some early renewal announcements! Although at this point, what does the CW have to gain from announcing them? The upfronts aren’t that far away. Speaking of the upfronts, why is the CW always last?
@Edward
Honestly I didn’t know what the CW was until I saw a promo for Vampire Diaries in a movie theatre. And I watched to watch it cause the lead girl was on Degrassi. Might be why CW gets terrible ratings.
@Edward
I turned about 8 people onto Supernatural. Of those 8, 6 had never heard of the CW, and 2 had never given it a try precisely because it was on the CW and they figured it was more “teen soap crap.”
Supernatural’s season average was 1.0 last year,
this year it is 0.7
…..shame
Can anybody please tell me the W18-34 ratings for SPN and Nikita?
@Dennis
SPN’s season average this year is more like a 7.5. It has had many 0.8s as well. The CW’s ratings have declined from last year across the board. It’s a network-wide problem.
It’s still the second highest rated show on the network though.
This is what I was waiting for. SPN up!
@Mickey 1.0
I think Fox in a few years will become like NBC ratings wise.
Maybe Nikita suffers from the “It’s still daylight” syndrome, so viewers just aren’t there in front of the TV at that hour.
