Bored with the recycling of topics in the CBS renew/cancel posts? Me too. Blame Les Moonves for renewing all those shows early!
To make room for new dramas in next Fall's schedule, CBS will cancel at least one of the CSI offspring (NY or Miami), and maybe both. The conventional wisdom is that if its only one NY goes and Miami stays, but I don't think there's enough behind that conventional wisdom to trust it.
Those imagining that CBS will keep them both with some sort of timeslot share or Saturday timeslot have very vivid imaginations.
What do you think?
More sitcom time could save Rules of Engagement and/or Rob, but without it, they're both likely gone too. Two and a Half Men will be renewed, unless something freakish happens and Ashton Kutcher's salary demands aren't met.

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

CSI Miami will get an 11th season, because…
- better ratings than CSI NY
- syndication, syndication, syndication, syndication, …, …
- NYC 22 died on Miami’s timeslot
- …
and of course…
Miami has 8 million more facebook fans, trololololol
CSI: NY is done.
Both! CBS need fridays slot for new dramas!
CSI:NY has much better syndication ratings on TNT than CSI:M on AMC. However, the AMC deal did include new episodes from season 11. One will be saved, especially with the fact that CSI:M consistently pulled better demos than TGW, even with all the sports overrun, and NYC22 bombed.
This breaks my heart because I voted that CSI NY is history. Gary Sinise and the other character actors in NY puts Miami to shame, even the stories are better, but with the new syndication deal with Miami, kinda keeps this show safer. Actually if NY goes, I will not have a problem if Miami was history to, because if the quality CSI goes then take the sunglasses with it. For the posters who have voted that both shows are safe, woow give me what you are on, because CBS is not going to keep both of these very expensive shows going next year.
Rob had better ratings that Rules and if i was the head of CBS i would renew Rob if i had to cancel one of these 2 shows.
BOTH hopefully !!!
I’d like for both to go. It’s past time, especially for Caruso.
As for NYC 22, I don’t think CBS had ANY genuine expectation of its success — the network is just filling time with a burnoff that is already paid for — so NYC 22′s failure won’t have any impact on the decision process for the CSI spinoffs.
Renew both. Give each a 13 episode finale and be done. Why give one a 22 episode run when they could easily make everyone happy and know that this next season is it? ABC gave Desperate Housewive Fans knowledge of the end why not CBS? I absolutely love CBS but they are brutal with dropping long term shows without giving them an opportunity to end them appropriately.
I hope that CSI NY survives. I love Gary Sinise and Sela Ward is an amazing actress. And I hate the sunglasses
They really need to cancel the sunglasses. It’s just ridiculous.
“Why give one a 22 episode run when they could easily make everyone happy and know that this next season is it?”
CBS is in business to make money, not to “make everyone happy”.
Which one do I think will be cancelled?
NY
Which one do I hope gets cancelled?
That would be Miami
I love CSI NY please don’t cancel the stories are so good, and I can’t wait to Friday night to watch them.
they shall get rid of both csi miami/ny and have 2 more yrs of csi
If CBS wants o keep me as a fan they will NOT cancel CSI Miami.
I have to get my Procter fix and that is that.
“If CBS wants o keep me as a fan they will NOT cancel CSI Miami.”
Definitely the bargaining phase of the Stages Of Grief.
NOT MIAMI!!!!
I hope they keep CSI Miami.
