Bored with the recycling of topics in the CBS renew/cancel posts? Me too. Blame Les Moonves for renewing all those shows early!

To make room for new dramas in next Fall's schedule, CBS will cancel at least one of the CSI offspring (NY or Miami), and maybe both. The conventional wisdom is that if its only one NY goes and Miami stays, but I don't think there's enough behind that conventional wisdom to trust it.

Those imagining that CBS will keep them both with some sort of timeslot share or Saturday timeslot have very vivid imaginations.

What do you think?

More sitcom time could save Rules of Engagement and/or Rob, but without it, they're both likely gone too. Two And A Half Men will be renewed, unless something freakish happens and Ashton Kutcher's salary demands aren't met.

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

MIAMI ROCKS!!! I hate to see either leave but if one has to go id rather it be NY!

  • Rachel

  • sebacon

Wooow… Csi Miami is the best show on TV if you think its ridiculouse then u got some drug in your system or u havent watched it once.. I love it so much i ahve seen eery episode 2 times i watch it everyday if i can and i cried when i heard it might be getting cancelled! CSI miami is the BEST SHOW EVA!!!

  • l jones

I love both CSI Miami and CSI NY. These are great shows. I record them so that I don’t miss them. You can’t tell me that either of these shows are getting a low rating. Without the Sunglasses and the red hair, CSI Miami is a lost cost. Also, all the characters on there are great. The same goes for CSI NY. CBS NEEDS TO GET ITS ACT TOGETHER. DON’T MAKE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF ITS LIFE!!!!!!!

  • poohlady

I really wish that CBS would leave the shows alone. I like the drama and have really enjoyed all of the CSI’s. Blue Blood’s, A gifted Man, Unforgettable and NYC 22 are all great shows and I really look forward to watching them. I have been a fan of CBS for a while but with the things that they’ve done the last couple of years is really pushing me toward other networks.

I think its aweful how they cancel good shows,I love both of these shows!! they should take off the good wife,CSI,undercover boss, survivor, how I met your mother!!I only watch cbs so I know my shows!!!voting to keep both!!!

  • Sandy Jones

For sure keep Miami. You have put them in the most awful time space of all. On Sunday night with all the late time changes. People have to get up for work and turn in earlier especially if they have been celebrating. Personally I am already tired of the Good so switch their time slogs. Or put Miami on Hawaii 5 o. Get rid of those stupid comidies.I never watch those

  • lesleywright

CSI NY should definitely be saved, it’s got good strong storylines and a brilliant cast/crew. Miami maybe, but CSI is passed it’s best the last good season was No 8 and the new lead actors have done nothing to keep at No 1.

  • tracie24

miani is number 1 in the world so y get rid of some thing good if you put ncis on sundays will it get high ratings

  • Josh

I think they are both great shows I think the time slots they are in now suck. CSI:Miami and CSI:NY are better than CSI is. CSI was a good show but now there is too many new people CBS NEEDS TO KEEP CSI:MIAMI AND CSI:NY personally I think some of the new shows CBS has picked up suck compared to CSI:MIAMI and CSI:NY

  • lynn cooper

they should keep csi miami because it has a huge worldwide fan base and there are un-finished storys to be told…

  • Nathan

It’s time for CSI: NY to end. It’s had a great run, and I will miss Gary Sinise greatly. I expect two more years from CSI: Miami.

  • Cyn

Really should get rid of CSI:Miami; the actors, actresses, and plots are so bad that after several attempts, I still couldn’t get myself interested. I’m sorry to say that if anyone watches CSI:Miami, it’s probably not for the story/plot of the show.

CSI and CSI:NY are the captivating shows with the stories and cast in the CSI lines, if CBS is getting rid of CSI:NY, they better get rid of CSI:Miami too cause I don’t think CSI:Miami deserves a slot at all.

  • Nikki

Love CSI Miami and sunglasses!! Think they have good stories and great characters!! Keep Miami!!

  • David

    ihope they keep csi miami

  • Doris.

Both CSI NY and CSI Miami will be cancelled by CBS> Deduction. Both Shows
Did not complete a full season. CSI Miami only aired 19 episodes,
From Sept 2011 to April 2012. CSI NY. Only aired 18 episodes from Sept 2011,
To May 2012 with a one month hiatus in between, Plus low ratings for both.
AMC baught the rights to CSI Miami. AMC may also put in their contract with
CBS to obtain the right to make and air new episodes of CSI Miami.
Which would explain the CSI Miami 11th season and Caruso’s Sunglasses,
    Not shaking in their boots!

  • Sonja

Please keep CSI miami I totally love that show!!!!! Horatio rocks!

  • Misty

It seems to me that shows that are on Friday nights never do well.. I enjoy CSI NY better than Miami, maybe if it aired a different day of the week it would get more ratings..
