Damnit Smash! Well, hopefully the final two episodes stay or go up in that area
@Tony
Guessing here, but 2.5 men was on repeats last night, and House is ending its run, only a couple more eps left. House had always done well with the 18-49 crowd. Good for House and smart, though painful to me, decision to move Bones to Monday. Always wonder how Bones would have done after Idol, Finder and Touch not doing much.
Smash =/ At least it’s already renewed. Hoping season 2 doesn’t drop in the fall.
HF-0 went up a point in its share, in addition to total viewers. Not bad for a repeat.
I have really enjoyed the last two episodes of Bones. I hated the way that they handled Bones and Booth getting together and the pregnancy and birth episodes, but all of a sudden they seem so much more relaxed and fun together. It seems like the actors finally found the right rhythm and they went from very awkward to more the way that it used to be. Whatever happened, please continue it. Bones has been fun to watch again.
Why does something like Smash get adjusted in the demo so often? The Voice seems to end on time, so why the constant adjustment?
Smash is still the top scripted drama on NBC by a long mile so dont worry about it. All it has to do is hold a 2.0 and up next season and we will get a 3rd!
Gossip Girl is still safe. Its demos have been very steady this season. Its getting the same demo as cw’s freshmen shows so its not quite embarrassing for a show in its 5th season.
Final season is a sure thing.
GG under a million for 3 times!!!!
may be total viewers not so important but is total bad image for CW
GG and hart of dixie get cancelled
In case anyone is wondering, the W18-34 ratings for GG (1.0) and HOD (0.9) last night.
“Why does something like Smash get adjusted in the demo so often? The Voice seems to end on time, so why the constant adjustment?”
The only reason I know of for consistent downward adjustment is run over of the prior, more highly rated show. That’s why Castle is so often adjusted down after DWTS, and Private Practice on Thursday after Grey’s.
That’s what I’d have guessed was the case for The Voice/Smash, but if, as you say, there is no run over, then there’s only one possible reason.
Conspiracy.
no way smash is getting a second season now. A 2.0 coming out of 3.8 means definite cancellation! too bad smash lovers, your show is GONE!
I don’t know why everyone is so shocked about GG being ‘under a million viewers’, it got 0.99 million, only 10,000 below, big deal….
DWTS’ best rating in weeks
@ Cali
Despite already being renewed? LOL
Bill,
How much of a runover does it have to be to get counted? Voice runs perhaps 10-15 seconds if that into Smash’s timeslot. Is that enough time?
Cali,
You’re so funny!
Don’t worry, Smash will be cancelled 2 episodes into it’s second season. That’s what happens when you renew show prematurely.
@CrimTV,
exactly. I think most people love seeing it do bad because they are pressed about the fact GG will most likely get a final season and by the time it ends it will have 120+ episodes so cable networks like WE would pick it up to air reruns. GG has many advantages (globally) so it’s safe despite the ratings.
“How much of a runover does it have to be to get counted? Voice runs perhaps 10-15 seconds if that into Smash’s timeslot. Is that enough time?”
One minute is enough. Calculations are made by the minute.
Gossip Girl (5th season) is performing the same, as the current CW’s freshman shows.
