    “@Dan S

How is the rating system broken. The advertisers want to pay for 18 – 49, the ratings measure 18 – 49?”

Clearly, the ratings system is broken because its results do not agree with Dan S’s opinion.

“Good luck to Robert and company having patience to explain the ratings game to these people all over again.”

Pageviews will come our way when the grieving Harry’s Law fans madly Google to find out WHY! WHY! was their beloved show canceled.

No show since LOST has captivated my imagination like OUAT.
I have enticed so many friends to watch it. Most of them would have NEVER sampled this type of show. Anyone who likes quality scripted programs, must invest their time for OUAT.

NBC should renew “Harry’s Law” – the demo is not the only factor, and the people above 49 have more wealth and buy more products (medication/cars/vacations/insurance … shall I go on?) – than any one under 49 – so they just need to sell advertising to that age group. By the way, most people who enter nursing homes (what an ageist comment – tacky!) are well into the 80s or 90s. I am 45, and I love the show. It does that well in a terribly difficult high stakes time slot … makes me wonder what would happen if they moved it to something different? NBC should not cancel their #1 drama (no matter what the kiddies think on here). Pfft.

YAY OUAT! i’d be very happy if it climbed up to 3.5 by the finale.

It might surpise some people at this site to learn that there are many TV viewers across the United States who know nothing about ad rates, the 18-49 demo, and whether or not they are the “right kind” of viewer. And making snide, sarcastic comments about the situation doesn’t help.

Most people I know think total number of viewers determines a show’s success and have not heard about the current importance of “demo numbers.” If Harry’s Law is canceled, many of its loyal viewers could be very shocked because a cursory glance at the ratings shows Harry’s Law is in the same ballpark as Once Upon a Time in terms of viewers, yet Once Upon a Time will most certainly be renewed because it has much higher 18-49 demos.

So while the 18-49 demo in overnights is key now, maybe there will be some shift in the future that changes things (DVR, online viewing, etc.), just like how total number of viewers was key until its replacement the 18-49 demo in overnights in the late 1960s/early 1970s (CBS “rural purge,” anyone?).

    Go OUAT!

  • Peter

Are there any ratings out yet for the Pittsburg vs Philly hockey series? Game 6 was on NBC

  • The End

They already said they have no plans to reveal who he is till at least Season 2.

With that in mind I watched the episode knowing his true indentity won’t be revealed. It wouldn’t surprise me if he actually was his Son however, but as he left the fairy tail world through that portal, it means he would of came into the real world and aged like anyone else..

@The End they said they won’t reveal who Dr Whale is until season 2, but August’s identity would be revealed before the end of this season, probably next week.

I think he’s Pinnoccio and guess Bae could be Henry’s real dad.

Good to see OUAT hitting 3.0 again!

  • Alex2

@Danielle. I wouldn’t worry about ABC renewing OUAT. They’re just waiting for the May upfronts. It’s a done deal.

  • Rebecca

    @The End
lol I was watching it yesterday on hulu while still popping over here during commercials (the prelims thread though) and seeing people saying it’s Rump’s son (I’m going to call Carlyle Rump now, easier than spelling out Rumpelstiltskin every time – I mean no disrespect because I think he’s the best in the show) or it’s Pinocchio or whomever (he doesn’t have to be Pinocchio. The Blue Fairy appears to more than just him) – I don’t care about spoilers anyway but it was exciting, lol. Well, whenever we find out who August really is, I’m watching every episode. I was thinking if he’s Henry’s real dad wouldn’t Emma recognize him….unless she is now under the town-wide curse somehow. But AFAIK she’s not under any curse and will be the heroine, and neither would August be under the curse if he can come and go as he pleases.

  • The End

I guess the problem with Baelfire being Henrys real dad is how do you get him into Storybrooke? They implied he was a deadbeat dad that didn’t want anything to do with Henry.

He won’t be affected by the curse either, or the effects of leaving the town, that’s why it seemed obvious that ‘August’ was his Mr Golds Son.

I think you’re probably right anyway, about pinocchio, he said was unwell and needed ‘magic’ thus would explain why he was looking up Rumpel and his dagger thing. He probably took Henrys book to refresh his memory(I.e fill in any blanks) about who is who in the town.

Speaking of Dr Whale, completely forgot who he was LOL.. Didn’t see him as being important.

  • The End

Good point, another point in my opinion is that ‘August’ initially doesn’t seem to let on that he knows who is who in the town, it seems since he got Henrys book, Rumpel was of interest.

I guess the problem at the moment is that he hasn’t had much, if any interaction with the other characters in the series. There’s nothing to suggest that Baelfire, even unaffected by the curse would know who everyone was.

Just, besides Emma hes the only one that has come to Storybrooke, and seems to want to stay for whatever reason.

Although he seems to want to help Emma with her Regina problem.

Seems to suggest to me that he used Henrys book to ‘play’ Rumpel, if he isn’t Baelfire. He wouldn’t of known what he did if he didn’t read Henrys book.

  • Rebecca

    @The End
Yep. We’ll see what happens. Also, seeing what others wrote here, had to look up on IMdb who Dr. Whale was. So far he’s just the doctor who works at the hospital. Taking care of Kathryn (and David before).

  • Matthew

    Great job OUAT! :D

  • mdmb

    good for OUAT
also the good wife next week on the season finale please hit 2 for last time

  • Tony ^_^

Wow! “Once Upon A Time” is back at a 3.0! I thought the show was going to flop but I was wrong. Lol… So it’s good for the fans. :)

Funny how “Harry’s Law” almost has the same amount of viewers as “Once Upon A Time”. :D

  • BJH

OUAT definitely took a few episodes to come around. But then, I was hooked. Its increasingly improving week-to-week. Some things are ridiculous, some things are hilarious, some things are plainly amazing. I think ABC has found their new “family & young adult” show they’ve been craving.

  • Networkman

I’m starting to feel that maybe CBS should try the Good Wife @8pm immediately following 60 Minutes. It should be able to hold onto all its demo and garner the same overall total viewers.

I am happy for Once Upon A Time. I don’t understand why ABC would return it on a week following a repeat of AFHV. AFHV should of been new. I really would love for OUAT to have a better lead in this Fall, but there is nothing the network could put @7pm that would be as successful as AFHV.

  • The End

I agree, especially as the curse was pretty much explained this episode. At least I assume he created it to be with his Son again. Didn’t quite work out that way I suppose.
