05/02/2012 (08:30PM - 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : Betty White’s posse of senior pranksters is back on the streets, pulling outrageous pranks on the younger generation. As star of the series, Betty shares her comical pearls of wisdom, entertains viewers with funny sketches between the pranks, and this week, gets a visit from actor Rob Schneider, hoping to land a different kind of role. Also this week, a prankster tries out the food samples she’s supposed to be giving out to customers, a widow tries to enlist two young girls in fulfilling her late husband’s last request, and a waitress offers a customer something he won’t find on the menu. Plus, one prankster borrows a girl’s cell phone for a long distance – and long-winded – call to France, and a man has an extreme reaction to a young girl talking too loudly on her cell phone.

Like it and Bent were anything more than burn-off anyway.

Note to networks: don’t bother premeiring anything after January.

  • Matt

Wowwww…..feel so bad for NBC… hopefully they will have good luck with new dramas DO NO HARM, MIDNIGHT SUN, an HANNIBAL and COUNTY….they all sound awesome!

  • Mark

That’s a shame! BFF is great! It’s NBC’s best new comedy. It should have been on after Up All Night instead of the awful Free Agents.

  • SJ

Wow, really? REALLY??? Bent, The Firm, Awake, Harry’s Law, Chelsea, and oh yes, Rock Center are all kept on air with ridiculously low ratings, but the one show I actually enjoyed and thought for sure I could keep enjoying for these final 2 episodes because NBC is such a f_cking joke, this they decided to pull? Two weeks before the end of the season. Really nice f_cktards!

First it’s not really fair to compare this move to leaving hour long shows on the air, since they operate in a different vacuum (You can’t easily replace an hour long show with a half hour show or vice versa). But even discounting for that you do realize that Chelsea, and Harry’s Law both out rate (or out rated) BFF, and Awake is equal to it in ratings, Bent only aired for three weeks (less than BFF has aired for), and the Firm DID get pulled from it’s time slot due to it’s low ratings. So your only real gripe should be with Rock Center (but as I already said, it’s apples and oranges to compare hour long versus half hour long ratings/status on the schedule).

Its ashame NBC had two very strong comedy’s with BFF and BENT..if only NBC paired them with better lead ins..30 Rock..Community..etc..oO well..

  • Nick

YAY!!! NBC actually made the right decision (for once).

Love OTR, what little I saw of BFF made me want to puke.
So you kinda know whether I like this or not. ;-)

  • Chriistina

Figured this was coming down the pike, the ratings have been pretty awful. Let us know if NBC puts it back on the schedule after sweeps or during the summer, Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Claire are hilarious together.

  • Azzman

    Who cares?! Bring back Bent!

  • Hugh

Thank you NBC for keeping Awake on. Respect

  • David

Best Friends Till Cancelation Bear Do Us Part.

“I wonder why they pulled “Best Friends” and not “Awake”.”

“Good decision but still they havent pulled Rock Center.”

Probably because they have new half hours they can put in its place (Betty!), but no new hour long shows at this point.

“Can Betty White spare the time to do a full season of Off Their Rockers? She still has Hot in Cleveland…”

I expect the NBC announcement of a Betty White cloning project presently…

  • Jon

They can probably take care of all the Betty White bits for one season in one day of filming.

    @Bill @Robert
Will Best Friends Forever be listed as ‘Canceled’, rather than ‘Certain Cancellation’ in the next editions of Bubble Watch and the R/C Index?

  • steve

Glad that bff crap is gone….now if they could just do something about that “whitney” pos.

  • a p garcia

Best move to date by NBC. I watch about 5 min of BFF before I couldn’t take it.

  • postman

thank goodness all the charecters were annoying

  • Riff Rafferty

Will miss this one. The chemistry between Lennon and Jessica was undeniable. Of the 2 shows that got the shaft because of ABC’s “surprise” renewal of a certain flailing sitcom, this was the one that was recast to perfection and didn’t miss a beat. It was like Luka Jones was there from Day 1. The other show got that cheap, knock-off version of Damon Wayans Jr. and got even worse than it was in the first place. The only good thing that came out of it was proving to Shonda Rhimes that, gee, Shonda, I guess they can just replace one black actor with another one.

  • Van

I really liked BFF’s shame more people didn’t watched it. It was really funny, and had a lot of heart :(

  • Puppet Doctor

Yay, for more Off the Rockers I love that show it always gives me a good laugh. I love the wheelchair segments they are the best.
