Obama Motors record profits!!! What a leader! What a businessman, what a liar!!!
GM paid a negative tax rate, around -1.5%

Warren Blasted GE’s Low Taxes, Not GM’s

Elizabeth Warren’s new ad takes a shot at the cozy relationship between Washington and corporate America.

“Washington lets big corporations like GE pay nothing,” she says.

A Warren critic, however, emails to note that the auto bailout — some of it run through the Troubled Asset Relief Program that she oversaw — included extensive use of the tax code to prop up a different group of companies.

General Motors, in particular, paid less than zero taxes of 2011. And when the Administration brags that GM reported a $7.6 billion profit in 2011, conservatives are quick to note the profits include roughly $100 million in the form of a tax benefit document in GM’s annual report (p. 51) — and, thus, massive untaxed profits.

The outcome: GM paid a negative tax rate, around -1.5%, because of a decision allowing some of the bailout recipients, GM, AIG, and Citi, to avoid actual losses, but to still claim those losses for tax purposes.

The Administration defend the move after what was, after all, an undisguised bailout aimed at getting a giant employer back on its feet. Conservatives point to it as a sign of picking favorites: GM, the favored child, pays negative taxes and wins praise for its profits; GE get blasted for paying low taxes on large profits. Warren, meanwhile, was a sharp critic of the financial industry bailout and criticized the tax benefits extended to AIG — but was silent on their use for GM.

This is my first day back after a 48-hour flu.

I had the 48 hour flue once, but being the greedy capitalist I got flue breaks from the government so it only lasted 22 1/2 hours but the poor common guy said he had it for the full 48. Found out later that the common guy didnt get it at all! He did want to get paid for 2 days of missed work, doctor visit costs, cost of medicine he would have had to buy, and cleaning service cuz he would have made a mess in the bathroom if he did get it!

Nooooooooo, of course he isnt trying to divide the nation!

Ahead of May Day, Obama delivers class warfare

In advance of a major Occupy rally planned for Tuesday, President Obama delivered a speech this morning filled with class warfare rhetoric.

The president warned union members that Republicans would rather give “rich folks” more tax breaks, than invest in the American worker.

“Republicans in Congress would rather put fewer of you to work rebuilding America than ask millionaires and billionaires to live without massive new tax cuts on top of the ones they’ve already gotten,” Obama declared in a speech to to construction union members at the Hilton hotel in Washington.

Obama added that Republicans’ economic plan depended on tax cuts for the rich and “dismantling your unions.”

“I mean, if you ask them, what’s their big economic plan in addition to tax cuts for rich folks, it’s dismantling your unions. After all you’ve done to build and protect the middle class, they make the argument you’re responsible for the problems facing the middle class,” Obama added.

The president praised the unionized middle class as the for contributing to an economy based on the middle class.

“You believed prosperity shouldn’t be reserved just for a privileged few; it should extend all the way from the boardroom all the way down to the factory floor.”

 I thought more people about my age wore Che Guevara T-shirts like I did when young… Guess not. The song was an anthem for the oppressed people to rise, march and shout ‘Forward’ in their struggle against the oppressor. Instead of revolutionaries, today we have… anyway, I should have translated the verse I quoted previously – here’s a complete translation:

Dan Rather gives Romney a 50/50% of beating Obama.

Obama performs much better campaigning than as president, said Rather, who is promoting a new book, “Rather Outspoken: My Life In the News.”…

AFL-CIO Rolls Out New Romney Video, ‘Meet Mr. 1 Percent’

It should be a bit embarrassing to union leaders that Bloomberg just had an article:

Union Leaders Decrying CEO Pay Also in Top 1%

The facts show the heads of the top 10 U.S. labor unions took home average salary and other compensation of $394,925 last year, according to union reports filed with the U.S. Labor Department. Taxpayers in the top 1 percent had adjusted gross income higher than $343,927, according to IRS statistics published in 2011.

    I can’t take much more.

Obama anti-obesity “slush fund” paid for pet spaying

A controversial anti-obesity “slush fund” under Obamacare was used in Nashville, Tennessee to spay dogs and cats. The reasoning: stray dogs scare people from exercising outdoors.

The Nashville health department issued a press release last year that told residents in one neighborhood that they could get free pet spaying, neutering, rabies shots and other services as part of $7.5 million grant from the Communities Putting Prevention to Work, which is part of the Public Health and Prevention Fund that will soar to $2 billion in 2015 under Obamacare. The program was initially funded by the Obama stimulus initiative.

How come PETA hasn’t made any statement about Obama having Fido for supper?

@d.d.: >>> …said Rather, who is promoting a new book, “Rather Outspoken: My Life In the News.”… <<<

Rather was scheduled to be Bill O'Reilly's guest to plug his book, but Dan, I guess, lacked the "courage" to face Bill O. Bernie Goldberg, NOT a friend of Rather's since he, then Dan, left CBS, will be on The Factor tonight, talkin' 'bout Dan. A lot of liberals would have watched Dan Rather on the Fox News Channel, but they probably wouldn't know what the frequency is. lol

CNN has to look at the time slots. Both Cooper and Burnett are placed in the wrong time slot.

Erin has her own set of fans and followers from her previous time slot at NBC. If CNN could move her to those time slot, her numbers would probably rise dramatically.

Secondly CNN has to let Erin be Erin. The show format and style looks so much like a compromise between what CNN wants and Erin’s previous show, Street Signs.

Thirdly, she need to have a regular guest host whom she has a chemistry with like Jim Cramer. One of the reasons why the show is so boring is because the guest commentators lack on screen charisma and are so mono tone … can fall to sleep, especially when Erin is not hosting.

Wow, I came over to check the ratings and see a right-wing circle here, complete with misleading articles linked from Drudge.
