Modern Family is #1 comedy with 4.2
Person of Interest is a wonderful show.
Touch is a wonderful show.
sorry they both suck
Thank you @Ultima
Finally someone with brains here that explains the ordering of pilots & seasons correctly.
And lol at @One, Community will get renewed. Jeez.
Missing up again! That’s a good sign!
TSC is an awesome show! The CW really needs to change the timeslot. It just can’t compete with Greys and Person of Interest which are both great as well
Mickey 1.0, SPN got a 0.6 last week.
@Gem
The question elephant in the room is whether the AA demographic is relevant to advertisers or not. I know that M18-34 are. That income above $100K is. I never heard that AA18-45 were before it was brought up here.
Now if they were, wouldn’t it be just cheaper to advertise for them on BET? Why pay more when you have them there? It’s like old people, you can find them at cheaper at other places, so they don’t pay for them during prime time.
The real issue is that people are betting on the renewal because of the race card. Because of politics not because of the ratings. If it gets renewed it will not be on the ratings merits of the show. There is nothing wrong with hoping that. Along with there is nothing wrong the show being renewed just because ABC wants to be diverse.
Now lets stop pretending the show is doing good, because it isn’t. 2.0 for a new show that had tons of promotion and has the best lead-in the network can offer is not good for a show on ABC.
It’s not good that not once, it managed to beat 5 year old Private Practice. That never was a hit. That barely gets any network promotion. Even when it has a better lead-in than the last 2 PP episodes that got 2.1 with that lead-in. It’s not good that this week, with a much worse lead-in, PP managed to do better than Scandal.
Pretending that Scandal will be renewed on its merits is ludicrous. Admitting that is might get a pass on the race card isn’t, and is a possibility.
I’ve never watched Scandal or GCB for that matter but yet I feel both shows will get renewed. 1 may get get held for midseason but the real wild card is if ABC will keep Missing despite its low demo. PP will be back as well but I doubt BOP will despite it’s late season ratings surge.
I absolutely love Scandal. What a breath of fresh air on Thursdays which have proven “Must See TV” in the past and then go “Must Not See Tv in the present”
Lol Missing is dead no question. And the secret circle is a joke. Even Nikita did better last season.
@ John A
Why are you comparing how Nikita did last year to how TSC is doing this year? ratings change from year to year so how is that even fair?
TSC is not a joke its getting better and better each week.
Come on a 0.5 is awful with that good lead in. It would be 0.4 if TVD wasnt new. TSC is the same as Ringer a flop.
@Jane SPN adjusted up last week to a .7. The other shows haven’t adjusted up. I’m not saying that’s great, but SPN has only hit .6 in finals once.
Can’t believe how many more people watch ROE than 30-Rock. What are they thinking?
@Keiran4 …I would like to agree with you, but ’30 Rock’ has gone downhill, with only very few specks of light since the middle of season 5… Last Thursday’s episode was baaaaad and boring, no matter how high the “cool factor” is for live-episodes… Ratings reflect this view, so it’s not only me that is losing interest in the show.
@Gem …Ever heard of ‘the Cosby’s', ‘Sanford and Son’, ‘Family Matters’, ‘For Your Love’… I’d rather view it as the Networks inability to understand their audiences, and chooses to target AA-viewers in the wrong way… As far as ‘Scandal’ goes, it has a tough night. With very fierce competition.
@S. …There are plenty of shows that has retained or only lost very little viewers after their initial episodes. Grimm is a good example of that. But ABC has put ‘Scandal’ on a very tough spot, on one of the hardest night of the week. ABC have taken a gamble to try something different out, so kudos to them for that. AMC also took a gamble to put something different out, albeit in another direction with ‘the Walking Dead’ and it paid off handsomely.
@Michael …Tina Fay and Alec Baldwin are marvelous, whenever their characters interact on the show it is magical… But even that cannot save the show from sinking, when everything else in the show has faded since mid-5th season.
For me the real shocker is still how shows like ‘The Big Bang Theory’, ’2 Broke Girls’, ‘Two and Half Men’ and ‘Rules of Engagements’ still can have such high numbers… Makes you fear that Zombies, that can only laugh on command and at poor catchphrases, have taken over.
I would like to see the numbers for ‘Parks and Rec.’ and ‘Up All Night’ higher, the former has however had rather poor scripts lately. And too much focus has been put on (unfunny) character specific traits and catchphrases, rather then quality dialog and jokes.
@Gem …Ever heard of ‘the Cosby’s’, ‘Sanford and Son’, ‘Family Matters’, ‘For Your Love’… I’d rather view it as the Networks inability to understand their audiences, and chooses to target AA-viewers in the wrong way… As far as ‘Scandal’ goes, it has a tough night. With very fierce competition.
…The point was that those mentioned shows have all been pretty successful!
@TVDude …Latest ‘Parks and Rec.’ might also have seen it’s numbers affected due to the fact that the latest episodes was aired several days earlier on a certain Canadian network, and hours later found it’s way to the internet… And have been available for downloading all over the internet for a very long time, before it “officially” aired
