Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • EatMorePez

The CW was pre-empted in Chicago by White Sox baseball. So possible adjustments for TVD and TSC.

  • rob60990

Scandal is FINALLY against a new Mentalist and didn’t drop. The 2 share no audience.

  • Jack

Soooo, Secret Circle – finally dead? 0.5 can’t be good for it’s renewal chances. Though I wonder how would such a late drop reflect on its prospects.

  • edward

    yeah grey’s still holding on

  • Sid

So much for The Mentalist killing SCANDAL! :D

    TSC is definitely in trouble.

  • DenverDean

NFL Draft impacted male-oriented shows. No surprise.

  • kat

So much for the Vampire Diaries and the Secret Circle being down last week because no one knew they were back from hiatus. So does Secret Circle’s decline change the renewal hopes of any other shows?

  • alexjones

the low waiting for person of interest is probably because people though it was a repeat, I wasn’t aware it was a new episode until last night.

  • Number Cruncher

TVD and TSC didn’t air in Chicago last night. White Sox baseball was aired instead.

  • Dillan

TSC will still be renewed. The CW will look at the entire season’s ratings.

    half hours please?

  • Kate

Ouch @ TVD and TSC. I thought they’d bounce back. Is it still “too little, too late” for TSC to be thrown into the bubble/cancelation ring with the rest of The CW freshman shows + Nikita?

  • fra

Last night episode of TVD WAS AMAZING!!! This ratings fot TVD are normal… every network are seeing LOWS,so it’s not that strange. If TBBT did a 5.5 this fall and a 4.0 now, i can’t see why TVD that did 1.5 this fall, can’t do a 1.0 now.
Also with the last two episodes, ratings will likely grow.

  • Petar

    @rob60990

Will see next week! I am not sure that people even know that this week is on, after 2 weeks of!

  • Jan

I’m glad Scandal did well. (Right?) It’s really a good show and it reminds me a LITTLE of The West Wing, in that the dialogue sounds like it came straight from Aaron Sorkin.

  • KarenM

GA will be gone soon. PoI will continue to rule. GA attracts the dumb ones under 35. :( CBS will continue to rule!

PoI isn’t perfect but at least it doesn’t have to rely on “beautiful” people with dumb storylines like GA to succeed. Sure the shootings of Reese are out there but overall the stories are way better than the soap operas like GA!

  • rob60990

    “Scandal > Revenge”

HUH? Revenge was adjusted up yesterday and Scandal may be adjusted down.

  • SteveO

@Max, no, Revenge is def their highest new 10pm. It is usually 2.3-2.4 range.

  • hubertwentland5

wow, low all around. sure BBT (along with Idol) and maybe PoI will be adjusted up.

  • Mi

@Max “So, is it basically Scandal > Revenge > GCB in terms of new 10PM shows on ABC?”
Emm, no. Revenge and Scandal got 2.1 this week and considering this is Revenge’s season low and Scandal’s season high, it’s obvious which one is doing better. Also, my guess is that just like the last 2 weeks, Scandal would end up getting adjusted down a tenth.

  • zerg

WTF? Scandal tie the Mentalist ( for now)

    Touch pathetic..under the Office

POI hurt a lot grey’s I hate see grey’s beaten by other shows and i say as POI’s fan ……anyway hope both rise next week
