14 Contestants Will Live Together and Compete for $250,000

Viewers Can Vote and Watch Online

“The Glass House,” the exciting and interactive real life and real-time reality competition where viewers are in charge of the game, premieres MONDAY, JUNE 18 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on The ABC Television Network. In “The Glass House,” 14 contestants will live and compete for a quarter million dollars in a totally wired, state-of-the-art house, playing not just against each other, but also playing to win over the viewing audience each week. Both online and through their social networks, viewers will be encouraged to support and follow the contestants they like, their votes helping to determine which contestants are sent home and also which eliminated players will earn the chance to return to “The Glass House” to compete each week.

But viewer feedback doesn’t end there! Several times a week, viewers can watch a live online feed of the players and vote to decide everything from what players wear and eat to the games they play, even where they sleep. Viewers will also have the chance to give their favorite contestants feedback on their game from outside the house. How the contestants use that information is up to them, because in the end it’s about who plays the best social game. The most important alliance players can have is with their fans!

Voting will be available online at at a later date.

“The Glass House” is executive-produced by Kenny Rosen (“Hell’s Kitchen” and “Big Brother”). It is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound.

Sounds a lot like Big Brother but with fan voting involved. Didn’t Big Brother do this the first season? If I remember correctly, all of the interesting people were voted off early.

  • eridapo

    I rather watch Big Brother.

  • Marc

well I assume being a hot sexy woman will play to your advantage for votes.

  • Survivor Fan

It is a total Big Brother rip-off, but that does not mean that it will be any worse than Big Brother. I plan to watch both this summer.

Also, I needed something for Mondays at 10.

  • The Mike Factor

This sounds right up my alley for summer tv!

  • DryedMangoez

Well, their TAR rip-off failed so I guess they’ll try Big Brother.

But I seem to vaguely remember a reality series in development a few years ago called “The Glass House” where it was Big Brother, but the contestants actually live in a glass house and people could watch them from the street or something and as people get eliminated, the house would literally get smaller.

    I don’t know.

  • Jan

Hopefully the voting won’t be as screwed up as it has been on DWTS. For the last two weeks, the phone numbers have been 1-800-888-3-05.

    My phone doesn’t HAVE a dash……………

So Big Brother in a glass house basically – I just threw up all over my computer.

  • RG-X

How Original!! – What will these networks copy – uh – I mean, come up with next?!

I was just sayin’ yesterday: “HEY! We need MORE reality shows.” NOT!

  • bluone

The producer of BB until season 8 is doing this show !! I don’t know about you but season 8 was the last great season of BB !! I’m willing to give this a try — why not, it’s summer mindless fun and I love that !! It’s way better than repeats and dopey America’s got no talent !!

  • Survivor Fan

This is a perfect example of a fun summer show! I do not mind rip-offs (I was one of the few who liked Expedition Impossible last year).

  • joethehobo

This seems like the foreign versions of Big Brother. Instead of competitions and STRATEGY, they just sit around all day and make sure to smile at the camera every once in a while to get the audience to vote for them. No thanks. Can’t wait until Big Brother 14!!!!

  • joethehobo

I think the past three seasons of Big Brother have been the best yet, and I’ve seen all of the seasons except the first one.

  • jcoop

Oh good just what we need on network “reality” show. This is why I have given up on network tv.

  • Matt

Sounds a lot like “Za Steklom”, a Russian rip-off of BB.

Let me guess, Rachel will be running to go onto this show too, with her boytoy.

  • Nick

Mondays at 10pm for this show? What is ABC thinking? This sounds pretty interesting, especially among their summer offerings, and they stick at at 10pm on a Monday?

after The Bachelorette is probably ABC’s best timeslot.
