    I’m taking this opportunity to announce that when SPN hits inevitable rating lows next week it will be because once again Castiel is in the episode.

    It’s a shame for Misha that so far every episode he has been back coincides with a mega genre movie coming out. But I’m sure the writers, producers, etc know this and will take it into account.

  • Fake Me Out

    I can’t help but think Fox will end up getting bit in the a** and end up paying a price for renewing a ratings train wreck like Fringe … maybe not right away but in a few years time the seeds planted will sprout evil fruit for them … couldn’t happen to a better bunch! I’m going to go out on a limb and make an early prediction, the final season ratings average will be under 1.0 with less than 3 million average total viewers.

    Don’t get me wrong, it’s good news for the fans … right now … but genre fans may also pay a price down the road for this renewal.

    If Fringe again is a a big time money loser for Fox, will the prez do the right thing and fall on his sword for backing the renewal? Will the higher ups push him onto that sword?

    Help save Endgame and watch season 1 on Hulu and RIP Todd and the Book of Pure Evil

    Obviously KS–Avengers is the big factor next week not Castiel.

  • Michael

    It’s a good thing Dark Knight Rises comes out in July, lol.

  • JJJ

    If the CW pilots are any good then Nikita is completely dead.

  • JJJ

    @Mickey1–I believe the producers did this to make the SPN loss less by giving those episode a Cas boost.

  • Hades

    I’ve seen the Avengers movie it was brilliant and really surprisingly funny, I definitely wouldn’t stay in to watch Dean and Cas angst all over each other when I could be watching that instead.

  • John A

    FRINGE had a 1.1 in both half hours for preliminarys. I always assumed a show wouldnt adjust down then.

    @Tessa and JJJ

    I have already posted this on TVline.com

    I am the biggest Castiel hater.

    But, I don’t ever relate the ratings to the content of the episode. Nielsen ratings are all crap and are useful only for Renewals and cancellation. Not for checking the quality of the episode or quality of the show. They reflect the viewing habits of a very minor portion of all the viewers.

    BTW, Supernatural got 0.6 for that episode because of Hunger Games movie release. Not because of Castiel or something else. If I am not wrong every show across the board was down.

    hi,new here

    what is the formula for get the final 1.0/3 = 3.09 for fringe?

  • Hades

    yes because the producers sat down with a list of movie premiers and said ‘hey we’re going to be hit hard on these dates lets bring back Cas to cushion the blow’ yeah I don’t think so. I think this season has proven that Cas has absolutely no baring on the ratings at all even if Cas fans like to think otherwise.

    Won’t stop the skeptics from drawing conclusions and pointing fingers. I can see them sharpening their claws already and saying, “See? People hate Misha/Castiel.” Oh, well. At least not everyone is in denial. And I agree. It’s a shame 2 out of 3 of Misha’s episodes happened on such nights. Scratch that, it’s a shame a good show like SPN is on a Friday while the rest of the CW crap is not.

  • Tabitha

    SPN :) :) adjusted up!

  • JJJ

    @Hades i’m more a Dean fan not a Cas one. That said i’m not saying it’s a huge factor but yes they know when something big is coming up.

    I’m a Cas fan and I don’t think otherwise. I’m also not the one yelling, “Lolololol! Cas fail!” over the Internet.

    @KS and Mickey 1.0

    What is so great about that guest actress? There was a lot of hype around her before and after the episode was aired.

    Bite your tongue heathen, don’t you dare talk that way about the Geek Queen =) *totally joking*

    Felicia Day is a fantastic actress and very a respected female Gamer, she does a lot of comic cons, and gamer cons… She is the Geek Queen =) Her web series The Guild is awesome and based off of MMORPG (which I can relate to because I play WOW)

    She has close to 2 million followers on Twitter, I’ve been following her on both Twitter and Facebook for over a year, just a lovely and fantastic gal.

    *what I have a girl crush* lol

    No you might not be, but others were doing the whole Die SPN die how dare you write out Castiel, how dare you screw Misha over. So To hear that crap for months on end, and people wishing for SPN to get canceled because they wrote Misha out, left a bad taste in some…

    Let’s not go there again with the whole TVline crap either the fandom wank as I call it.

  • Tessa

    I am the biggest Castiel hater.

    Make sure you check with the rest of your tiny group before you claim that title. I’m sure your co-haters (both of them) have something to say about you putting yourself on top of the panel. ;)

    @Freyja and Mickey 1.0

    That’s the thing. I felt the episode too girlish. I have expected a lot of action and leviathan horror that’s been missing since many months and I was also a full scale computer episode. But whole episode was mostly about her and her life, which I found very boring. I find Ellen and Jo more brave and interesting than Charlie.

    Many of my friends also didn’t like episode much.

  • CrimTV

    CBS have succesfully aired two shows at the same time at 9pm, congrats ;)
