Check this out, guess we now won’t allow defectors anymore either

*Vice President Joe Biden overruled State and Justice Department officials
(*Report: Biden Denied Asylum for Defecting Chinese Official)

The office of Vice President Joe Biden overruled State and Justice Department officials In denying the political asylum request of a senior Chinese communist official last February over fears the high-level defection would upset the U.S. visit of China’s vice president, according to U.S. officials.

The defector, Wang Lijun, was turned away after 30 hours inside the U.S. Consulate Chengdu and given over to China’s Ministry of State Security, the political police and intelligence service.

Wang has not been seen since Feb. 7 and remains under investigation. His attempt to flee China set off a major power struggle within the ruling Communist Party and led to the ouster of leftist Politburo member Bo Xilai and the arrest of his wife on murder charges.

I’m creating a Trigonometry math worksheet for the kid, is it me or did they change the methods to calculate these figures? It seems like they have made them harder to do, so I’m going to use the method I used in the past, it’s alot easier to get the answers.

This software program is about a year ahead of her level, but so far she is knocking it off at a good pace.

Oh Brother!!!!Matthews also likened the leadership of President Obama to that of Henry V of England.

Matthews: “So Proud” Of Obama Addressing Troops In Afghanistan

Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” raved about a speech President Obama made to American troops during his surprise visit to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.

“I imagine being a soldier over there — this is what you want to hear,” Matthews said, as if he was wearing military fatigues.

Matthews also likened the leadership of President Obama to that of Henry V of England.

“It was right out of Henry V actually, a touch of Barry, in this case, in the night for those soldiers risking their lives over there,” Matthews said.

“Well that’s great stuff. I was so proud of the President there, I must say. This has nothing to do with partisanship; this is the Commander-in-Chief meeting with the troops,” Chris Matthews gushed on his program today.

Matthews continued to express his admiration for Obama, who was in Afghanistan to mark the first anniversary of Osama bin Laden’s death.

“Congressman [Jim] Moran (D-VA), I was so proud of him there because I imagine being a soldier over there [and] this is what you want to hear. The troops are backed up by the people at home and there you have your Commander-in-Chief there with you personally. It’s great stuff,” Matthews raved.

Rep. Moran also had strong praise for Obama, noting he was acting in a way that the Commander-in-Chief “should act” rather than “just by claiming to be” one. Moran said the speech “was not politics” and Obama has not made and will not make this a campaign issue.

“He is our Commander-in-Chief and not just by claiming to be, but by acting as a Commander-in-Chief should act. This was a Commander-in-Chief’s speech. It was not political. It was motivational; it was just exactly what the troops needed to hear and [just] as important, what their families need to hear back home,” Moran said.

“And instead of gloating over the killing of bin Laden a year ago, this is exactly where he should be and doing what he should be doing. Now in terms of responding to the concern of this war, I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t accelerate the troop withdrawal. It’s not going to happen before the election and it’s going to happen only as he can responsibly withdrawal our troops,” Moran continued.

“You’re not going to hear much about this issue because I don’t see where he’s left any room on the left or the right for it to be a campaign issue, Chris,” Moran concluded.

New Slogan: ‘Real Change Is Slow and it Never Happens All at Once’

“I’m not going to kid you,” the first lady said at the fundraiser, according to the pool report. “This journey is going to be long. And it’s going to be hard. And there are going to be plenty of twists and turns along the way. That’s how change always happens in this country. The reality is real change is slow and it never happens all at once.”

Seems like a winning slogan to me! “Change is slow.”

It just keeps getting better! Next yo will see Michelle sitting at a table holding hands with Chris Matthews surrounded by candles singing “Kume Bye Ya Mr President, kume bye Ya”

Michelle: We are “Blessed” to Have Barack

First Lady Michelle Obama invoked religious imagery again in offering praise for her husband, asserting Tuesday that the nation was “blessed” to have him.

Speaking at a fundraiser in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Michelle described the financial and professional difficulties of President Obama’s mother and grandmother. And then she added:

So believe me, Barack knows what it means when a family struggles. He knows what it means when someone doesn’t have a chance to fulfill their potential. Those are the experiences that have made him the man, and, more importantly, the President he is today. And we are blessed to have him.

Ironically, Michelle is giving literal meaning to the name Barack, which is derived from African and Arabic words meaning “blessing.”

Michelle’s remark comes just two weeks after she alleged that “this President has brought us out of the dark and into the light.”

The Chosen One will hold two fundraisers in Washington today

In his speech last night the president noted the more than a half-million Americans who’ve served in Afghanistan. But in remarks that Obama wanted focused on an optimistic end to the conflict, he failed to mention the 1,957 Americans who’ve died there since 2001, 68% of them during his presidency. And 93 in the last 122 days.

    Jewish Voters Leaving Obama

Polling significantly worse than in 2008

Obama is far behind his 2008 pace with Jewish voters, new polling shows. According to Michael Barone at the Washington Examiner:

The latest survey of Jewish Americans, conducted March 14-27 by a firm called Knowledge Networks for the American Jewish Committee, shows Barack Obama leading Mitt Romney by a 61%-28% margin. That’s significantly behind Obama’s 78%-21% margin over John McCain among Jewish voters in the 2008 exit poll. …

Obama gets 72% of the votes of those most concerned with the health care issue, according to the current AJC survey, and 62% among those most concerned about the economy. But Romney leads Obama among those Jews whose major concern was national security issues (44%-42%) and U.S.-Israel relations (44%-42%). Clearly Obama is losing some Jewish voters on foreign policy issues.

Pentagon is planning ‘contingency’ for Iran and North Korea

The U.S. military is discussing significant changes in its war plans to adhere to President Obama’s new strategic guidance that downplays preparing for conflicts such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and counts on allies to provide additional troops.

War planning for Iran is now the most pressing scenario, or what the Pentagon calls a contingency.

The defense source said the U.S. would respond to an invasion of South Korea by the North primarily with massive air and sea power. It would be up to the South Korean army to do most of the ground fighting, and it would have the lead in stability operations for a defeated North.

Overall, the U.S. military is reducing the planned number of U.S. ground troops that would be needed in a major conflict and is counting on allies to fill the gap

U.S. Central Command believes it can destroy or significantly degrade Iran’s conventional armed forces in about three weeks using air and sea strikes, according to a defense source familiar with the discussions.

You don’t talk about the Americans that died or the ones that have returned disabled and mentally disturbed. That is not Politically correct. Nor do you talk about the many Political Factions in Afganistan that vote with guns which makes it improbable that Afganistan could actually become a Political Democracy and not a Political Military State. Therefore at this point in time the war in Afganistan is a waist of young American lives first than a waist of money and then a waist of time.

You also do not talk about Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, government pensions and all the other government spending programs that have provided reasons for people to vote for particular politicians in the past.

As CBS 2’s Susanna Song reports, the government is warning small plane pilots that if they enter the no-fly zone during the summit, they may be shot down.
