Recipe for Touch being a "toss up" for renewal or cancellation:
- 1 part ratings that have fallen in all but one week of its run
- 1 part Fringe renewal, removing an hour from the 2012-13 schedule for 13 episodes
Mix and wait for Fan Excuse Bingo play to begin!

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

I agree with touch falling to a toss up, if it gets renewed at this point it’ll only be to save face for FOX since all their other new dramas this year have bombed, I believe it’s falling ratings may have had a hand in fringe’s renewal as well.
Fox must not have high standard if they want to renew .9 dramas like Fringe. But cancel 2.1 dramas like Terra Nova. Even though Fox said they made money off of Terra Nova and lost on Fringe.

FOX will certainly launch 1 new drama in the fall probably the Kevin Williamson project on Mondays. That night needs a major shakeup for them.
I enjoy the show – but yea – I’m finding that if it’s cancelled – I won’t be upset…
FOX should have done TV Movie specials twice a year for 24 – that would get better ratings.
Renew Touch
Ditto what RG-X said.
More than Likely Touch will be renewed. If House wasn’t ending this season I would agree but Touch has consistently had higher ratings than Alcatraz or Terra Nova and Terra Nova was extremely expensive ( which is the reason why it was cancelled).I bet Touch will get renewed now and moved to mondays cuz the only veteran drama ( hell the only actual drama….Glee is more comedy than drama) left is Bones.
@avery
no fringe on your schedule, are you expecting it to be held back til midseason?
I think Touch can be renewed for a 13-episode season and take Fringe’s timeslot on midseason. It sure as hell won’t survive on thursdays or mondays if its ratings keep falling.
See that The Finder was up graded. Is that correct?
Not a Touch fan as it airs opposite Person Of Interest, but FOX would be foolish to cancel it. Then again, these idiots renewed Fringe which has done nothing but lose them money the last two seasons and will do so next season as well. Since Alcatraz will be cancelled, I won’t be watching FOX in primetime at all next season for anything other than sports.
Also, if The Voice doesn’t return on fall, I think Fox should move Glee to mondays. No new show is surviving on mondays.
“See that The Finder was up graded. Is that correct?”
I figured it should have the same chance as Alcatraz, but debated whether having both “certain” or “likely” and likely won out.
fox should have of renewed terra nova… ino it was expensive but it rated much better then alcatraz and touch
Bad, Touch is awesome show I agree with @KJStyles
@jon
Touch airs after idol, and no matter how bad idol is falling touch shouldn’t just be getting barely above alcatraz’s ratings
BOOM! See that, Mr. HACK. “Fringe: RENEWED”.
Thank goodness. Touch is an awful show and a waste of Kiefer Sutherland’s talent.
I am so extremely sad now. Touch is my new favorite show and look what happens. The ratings plunge with each and every new episode. I swear, I really am a jinx. I’ve already killed Terra Nova and possibly Alcatraz by devotedly watching those two; why couldn’t the third time have been the charm?
