  •     - certain to be renewed by May, 2012

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

    Bob’s Burgers should be :-D

  • Other than THAT Mrs. Lincoln how was the play?

Alcatraz – going no place but down. Fringe didnt hit the levels it ended on until Season 3. It aint coming back. Fell too far too fast despite a prime Monday slot. Still amazed Fringe is getting a final 13 ep. Season 5. JJ should create a LOST/Fringe combo series on cable for summer airings. Especially if Garcia ends up unemployed. He runs the Island now. Combining the two fan bases might be enough to make it successful on cable.

Terra Nova – interesting idea but that one was doomed by really bad acting. I wanted all of them to die and be replaced with a new cast if it came back.

Touch – one episodde seems to be same except with different people. What is the point of it? I almost sense someone will say “Save the Kid, Save the World” at which point the kid flys into the sky in the season/series finale. It reminds me of math version of Highway to Heaven or Touched by an Angel. Didnt watch either much as they were rather boring.

Whats up with that nut frank5869? He has a maniacal obsession with Rupert Murdoch.

Raisinig Hope? Never seen that one.

quote from The X Files [3.12]:
Mulder: Bambi also has this theory I’ve never come acro–
    Scully: Who?
Mulder: Doctor Berenbaum. Anyway, her theory is–
    Scully: Her name is Bambi?
Mulder: Yeah. Both her parents were naturalists. Her theory is that UFOs are actually nocturnal insect swarms passing through electrical air fields.
    Scully: Her name is Bambi?

I really enjoy Touch. Reminds me of the movie, Frequency. This is not just a run-of-the mill series like so many of the rest. Well written…

I also enjoy Touch but wouldn’t be upset if it was cancelled. I don’t think the theme of the show warrants multiple seasons. Much like Kring should have ended Heroes after 1 yr, learn from the past and wrap up Touch nicely and put it to bed.

  • sad_fan

it’s a shame about Touch–it’s a great show that is trying to do something very different and worthwhile on television. Fox should have aired it on cable where it may have had a better chance. Unfortunately, it seems that these days that if a scripted drama doesn’t have an exciting car chase, sex, or violence it’s simply not going to get mainstream ratings. It seems that network tv right now is simply a slew of cop and lawyer dramas, sitcoms, and reality tv shows.

I think everyone is forgetting that Kiefer Sutherland is at the helm of Touch.Think back to 2001 when 24 was starting Fox had no good shows. 24 was essentially the “big” fox drama. I think with Kiefer Sutherland it stands to reason they will give him at least two seasons.

    “I just got an erection” – Walter Bishop/Fringe,Season 1

  • tvfreak

@Tony: Does Walter Bishop announce everything that happens to his body? Jeez, it’s either gonna make me laugh out loud or choke on my own vomit when I start watching Fringe.

“When two points are destined to touch, an indirect connection is impossible.”
-Jake Bohm, from Touch episode 1.08 “Zone of Exclusion”

Well that was a bit of a laughoutloud moment, its in season 1 if I remember correctly :)

    What are the rules? :)
I want IN if its not too late

  • Rebecca

I’m not tvfreak but I can answer. Look on page two of this thread for the game rules he posted.

  • Todd

24 didn’t start out to record numbers either, but Keifer Sutherland has staying power. Also Gugu, is not only a beautiful woman and talented, she’s incredibly smart. They might need to get a little more action in it, but the theme and the humanity should make us all want to try a little harder to be kinder. There is nothing wrong with a “feel-good” show. Which I do after every episode. Please keep Touch!!!

  • Jonas

Touch is clearly inspired by The Psychic Twins book Separated at Earth. The plots are obviously adapted from the twins’ life story (amazing by the way). Too many similarities…
