The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

And as for Touch, I really hope FOX renews it! I mean c’mon they wanted Kiefer back on the network, at least they can do is commit to several seasons before cancelling it!!

Cancelling their top-rated drama still seems like a stretch to me… aside from Idol and Sunday comedies, the ratings on Fox are pitiful these days. Gone are the days of 24 and House domination… Touch may not have great absolute numbers, but until they can find something that does I don’t see how it would be logical to dump the only thing that’s working.

Touch isn’t their highest rated drama, Glee is, and over the past five weeks when they’ve both been on, Bones has outperformed Touch.
Touch may not have great absolute numbers, but until they can find something that does I don’t see how it would be logical to dump the only thing that’s working.
In order to keep Touch, they’ll have to pick up one less drama pilot, making it harder to find what they’re looking for.
