Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2012 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved. All numbers are live viewing plus same day DVR viewing.

I don’t understand it. The highest rating for any network show is only about 17 million viewers. Has cable put a dent in the big 4 networks? Some point down the line they will just have to make more diverse, intellingent programming or they’ll just be a bunch of sore losers.
Hmm… I wonder why the HH rating isn’t used instead? When I look into ratings of past shows, the Household Rating is what I usually see for a show instead of A18-49. I know that it has to do with advertising, but isn’t it better to expand beyond the 18-49 range and include everyone? And the HH rating makes ratings look better. Lol… xD
But just a thought I had… ^^^
Um, just wondering but where are the top 25 cable ratings
?? They’re usually posted earlier than this.
LMAO. wowow those ratings are awful? a modern family repeat made the top 25?
@Bee, don’t look at the first list, look at the second list.
Tony- back when I followed ratings religiously (mid 80s-mid 90s or so), the HH rating was the be-all-end-all in terms of what was reported in the media. In the late 80s/early 90s, media started reporting estimated overall viewership, as well. The 18-49 demo supposedly always has been a factor in series’ fate, but I’m not sure when Nielsen started releasing that info regularly, and, in turn, leaving the media to report on those numbers.
Despite its slip in the ratings, DWTS still is performing well enough 7th and 15th in the demo). Ratings in general are not looking all that hot.
Yay for OIUAT’s adjustment to a 3.0.
Nice for POI.

Yes, but it’s nothing new. Broadcast viewership has been declining for 30 years due to cable.
Some point down the line they will just have to make more diverse, intellingent programming or they’ll just be a bunch of sore losers.
Wow, you really don’t understand TV.
Also…a lot of those shows were repeats. The Thursday through Sunday shows were new because of May sweeps and these days people have to search to figure out which shows are new and which are repeats. At least you know reality shows are new. Cable and recording flexibility and iTunes/Netflix provide more viewing options for people. You make your own schedule.
WOW SURVIVOR top 10 that is amazing 2.7 rating is not huge but still is great compared to all these new shows
Haha. No Castle in the top 25, not even on the old people list. Pathetic. Cancel it now plaese.
Do the ratings take into a account DVR viewers?
