   people seem to like TNT coverage of the playoffs more than ESPN’s

   Yes they do TNT’s coverage is way better and always has been as its the closest thing we’ve had to the great coverages of the NBA on NBC and NBA on CBS.

   ESPN and ABC just plain suck although they’ve gotten a little bit better in past years.

   K. 16 & Preg 0.6 and 1.07 million? MTV is in a tight position with seemingly all its shows except Punk’d which seems to be their only show not falling out of the sky.

   The Game just can’t stop falling. If they can get back to quality level that they had on The CW, I would think people would star tuning back in

   Real Housewives of OC is doing great this season. The New Jersey wives did also great last Sunday.

   Top Shot is very stable. I think it will be enough to get a 5th season.

   There is really some place here for a good drama on cable. I don’t understand how Tuesdays were so crowded a few weeks ago (Southland, Justified, White Collar) and now there is nothing.

   @peter so glad to see OC doing so well this season, 2.98million total viewers between 9-11pm is awesome for them!

   I’m sure someone will come on and say it’s no NJ or Atlanta numbers blah blah blah but a show with a million viewers is generally considered a hit, let alone one like OC that has previously garnered 2.87million in it’s first airing, 3.5million combined on the first night (it’s highest rated episode – last season’s season finale.)

   @ peter. because fx ,tnt, and usa put their tuesday night shows earlier in the season espically tnt , due to playoff basketball and it was a good idea since a lot of shows are not doing well.

    I wish the NHL and NBA fans would stop this nonsense because it is annoying when all of you do it. Both sports will continue for many decades. In a few decades NBA, MLS, and NFL will be the top three because the baby boomers will be dead and hispanics will push soccer up.

    I actually agree with you that in 20 years the NBA may take over as the second biggest sport, ahead of the MLB. It will be NFl, NBA and then MLB. But you’re definitely wrong about MLS. There are already many Hispanics here and soccer get’s no ratings even compared to the NHL. Not happening. Biggest sport in the world but nothing in this country.

    basketball has and will beat hockey. i am old enough to remember tape delayed CBS nba basketball on friday nights @ 11:30 so i ve been around basketball on television. and i have to agree that TNT is great compared to the dump that is ESPN.

    Mr Mikey, the NBA is not more popular than the MLB. Worldwide yes, but in the US it’s not.

    And Torrid still loves to conveniently ignore that NBCSN is available to 80% of American households.

    2.5 million viewers and ONLY A 0.2 18-49 rating? Wow. That means, with 20 million viewers it would only get a 2.0. That’s half of what NCIS gets and we all know who loves watching NCIS…

    Matt, I’m not an NBA fan, but it is WAY ahead of MLB at this point. I’m 19, and I only know a couple of people my age that watch MLB. And those are just the spanish kids that were on the baseball team in my high school. That’s about it. And a couple of the geeky kids that love the statistics. Every single middle-aged man I know (Family and their friends) love the sport, but not many people my age. The sport is fading out. I don’t live in one of these bum cities, I live in NYC. It’s not a great sample size just using my friends but neither is the one they use to determine TV ratings so I would say it speaks for people my age. Although, most of my friends are football and hockey fans considering I’ve played both sports my whole life.
