this spring man. this freakin’ spring. there’s normal declines and then there’s this year’s declines. ridiculous. anyway..
yay glee! people can go DIE GLEE DIE all they want. but hello? it’s still the #1 scripted show on FOX! and is in the most DST-effected hour, has no lead-in, and brings in money from various things. they’ll have to cancel everything else first. it is disappointing though that as graduation nears, there’s no spike in numbers.
new girl’s ratings are a mystery. one week it’s beating glee by 0.3 and the next it’s 0.3 behind. and there’s no special competition or bad repeat schedule. college finals week? lol.
i WOULD say cougar town is dead, but the producer/creator is extremely confident lately. i know trusting that stuff is not good, but he’s not the “oh our show is awesome and will survive if we believe!” type others are. i would be so overjoyed if it returned, esp. after ABC kept pushing it back and then cut the season order. all it needs is a decent, compatible lead-in and it would go back to pulling low 2.0s at least. it can do 1.3-1.8 all on its own in the worst spring ever, lead-in or no lead-in, and normal competition or not.
LMS is suffering from such a crappy schedule. idk why it premiered in about mid-october and yet, aired 11 damn episodes in the fall. wtf? there were only 3 episodes in all of march and april. but it’s ABC so bad scheduling is natural.
YAY PRIVATE PRACTICE! even in a DEATHLY spring and a big timeslot move right before the end of the season, it’s pulling the same numbers it did in its last post-grey’s eps and now winning its timeslot! i’m expecting being against the voice’s finale next week to hurt it, but hopefully it manages to stay above 1.8. i’m guessing the 13-episode final season thing is just technical talk. it’ll be renewed and if it’s still pulling decent numbers, it’ll get a full season and be a contender for a 7th season. if the numbers are weak, it may or may not get extra eps, but will hopefully get a final season announcement.
NCIS: LA was lucky to have the crossover. otherwise it would’ve been around 2.4 like last week.
Private Practice pretty much sealed its renewal last night. i doubt how it does next week against The Voice finale will have any impact and the week after is ABC’s upfronts. It will definitely be the show’s last season too. The only question is how many episodes. 13, 18, or 22?

I am really curious on how The Voice will do in its finale; I have to say I find it interesting the way the ratings for it have been jumping around. I don’t have a clue why The Voice ratings do this, but it is interesting.
I am also interested to see how America’s Got Talent Do with Howard Stern over the course of a few months, will it start out strong and fade like The Voice, American Idol and The X Factor? Fun Stuff

Private Practice just secured its renewal last night. Have to give it props for doing decently on Tuesdays. Honestly LMS, HE, and CT should all just go.

The show gets better week after week, it has improved sooo much since earlier episodes.

1.3 is really bad rating, but Cougar Town will be renewed. No doubt. In fact, LMS is in much more dangerous position than CT.

New Girl is a loser these days, much more worried about New Girl than LMS at least LMS puts up decent viewership with a super loser like Cougar Town attached to it bringing its ratings down.

I was asking for a poll for everyone to participate in.
Predicting The Voice Finale will be major fun because there are so many variables at play. Like Justin Bieber is scheduled to appear. How big of draw will that be? Will Bieber fever mean great ratings on TV? The judges have produced hit songs, so if they sing how will that affect the ratings? How many people will tune in just to see who won? And many more variables.

This is just my opinion but surely Smash would do around the same without The Voice lead-in since it’s found an audience and ratings between 1.8-2.2 usually, which is much lower than The Voice lead-in, so wouldn’t it rate around the same when The Voice goes off the air and Smash airs without it.
