MSNBC and CNN – just sad all around.
Current leadership of Time Warner, led by CEO Jeff Bewkes, are not taking CNN’s struggles lying down.
Time Warner’s current CEO, Jeff Bewkes, is “clearly not satisfied” with how CNN is doing and is pushing management of both CNN and Turner “to come up with a plan to restore momentum” of CNN, said a Time Warner spokesman.

CNN Viewers in China Blocked From Watching Story about Chinese Dissident
———
Whew ! You guys , I’m tired. Today was mentally & emotionally draining. We went through 62 cases , passed on lunch to get through them . Of course , I can’t talk about ‘pick ups’ because those indicted could flee , but, we had a completed rape of a four year old girl , sexual assaults, the usual drug, burglary, & robbery cases. We failed to indict one ….for spanking his child. We toured the jail . Being a smaller community , the jail holds 200 . Right now they have 43 female , 4 juveniles being tried as adults, & the rest of them are men , with 7 empty cells now. Their is one inmate that has been there 30 years, another 18 years. They stay until a place is available for them in a prison. Special needs always go first. Women wait an average of 2 years for placement. Prisoners get exercise , but, it’s just walking , no basketball ,etc. There is basic cable . They do their own laundry , & tidy their cells , but, not much else besides inhouse church , the juveniles must have classes, AA & the like, every week. They aren’t allowed anything from their families , not even bibles , because of smuggling. A church furnishes smaller versions for any inmate requesting them . There are rooms for detox. & suicidal inmates.
I have to say I learned a lot including on how Wal Mart can read about about every license plate in their parking lot, & , how many cameras there are out there watching us all.
Oh. Rachel Maddow dropped again.
(For those of you libs who note, everyday, when any Fox News show gets lower ratings than numbers generated months before. Of course, I KNOW you can’t compare Fox fairly, how Fox does against MSNBC & CNN.)
@d.d.: >>> I have to say I learned a lot including on how Wal Mart can read about about every license plate in their parking lot, & , how many cameras there are out there watching us all. <<<
I think that Wal-Mart has more parking lot cams than CNN has viewers. lol

GM Chairman Akerson to Newsmax: Bush, Obama Share Credit For Bailout Success
General Motors Chairman Daniel Akerson tells Newsmax that both President Obama and former President George W. Bush should share credit for the successful bailout of the auto industry.
Akerson also flatly denies allegations that the federal government — which still owns nearly 30 percent of General Motors stock — has been involved in the day-to-day running of the company.
And he warns that while he sees a positive outlook for GM over the next several years, he believes the economy has not fully recovered due to a weak housing market which he predicts won’t bottom out for another “couple of years.”
To be fair, for Rachel, I think many MSDNC viewers watched NBC’s Rock Center.
Ted Turner Defends CNN’s Ratings Struggle: I Wanted CNN To Be Like NY Times
As we mentioned earlier, CNN just had its lowest-rated month in over a decade. In an interview with Piers Morgan, airing Thursday, Ted Turner came to the network’s defense. Unlike MSNBC and Fox News, which have political leanings, he said, he wanted CNN to be “hard news” — like The New York Times.
“The emphasis should be on – hard news,” Turner, who launched the network in 1980, said. “I wanted CNN to be the ‘New York Times’ for the news business, not the – ‘The Daily News.’”
Turner added:
“I thought that for the long-term, that would be the best position to be in, even if the ratings weren’t the greatest. If you had the most prestige and you were the network that everybody turned to in times of a crisis, that was the most important position in the news business to hold.”
April was CNN’s worst month in over 10 years, with the network bringing in an average of only 357,000 viewers. Nonetheless, the network is expected to bring in something around $600 million in operating profit this year
I see Appletinx’s Bentley is safe for at least a day
On CNN, My question is how in the world could the powers that be there allow months and years to go by before they finally decided to act?
Next is NBC, if they continue their trend, they will be heading toward CNN territory
Greta’s ratings in the key demo aren’t too hot for a Fox News “star”.
Greta: 290k
Rachel: 271k
O’Donnell: 249k
Won’t be long before Rachel and Larry regularly beat Greta!
I heard a relly good joke,,,,, MSNBC…… good one, huh????
@d.d.
Glad your back, just relax and let your hubby bring you the coffee or tea, or beer, or water LOL
Hey Rod- that’ll happen the day that you are able to get your head out of your rear….it’ll never happen.
Mark,
Rock Center did not show much of a blip in the ratings.

@ b
I’ll be surprised myself if O’Donnell ever beats Greta. But I can see Rachel eventually beating her regularly.
Rachel actually attracts viewers to MSNBC.
While Greta seems to ride on O’Reilly and Hannity’s coattails, and I suspect much of her viewership is just too lazy to change the channel.
@Rod D: Apples and oranges for half of your “won’t be long…”
Rachel airs at 9PM, Greta at 10pm. A lot of folks are in bed by 10pm. And, I’m not talking about senior citizens.
I have friends in the desired 18-49, all doing well, who retire for the night by 9 or 10pm.
But, hold your breath for each of your predictions.
IN all fairness, I must take Greta to task for WAY TOO MUCH of Donald Trump.
Maybe during the short period of time during the GOP primary season, he was a good “get” because he threatened to run for President. Now, he’s just a multi-millionaire and TV host. One of those scripted unscripted shows.
And, too much of streaming Rush Limbaugh. The other night, Trump was on the PHONE…no video of him. This isn’t radio, for cryimg out loud.
Were going tonight at 12am to see Avengers 3D, it hasn’t even opened yet and overseas has made almost 280 Million (Boxoffice Mojo)
I had a chance to buy stock in the movie studio but stupid me didn’t like liberal Hollywood MY BAD!!!
Awesome! Shep Smith is the lowest rated of all shows on foxnews…except for the morning show, and an Oreilly rerun. Sad really. Get rid of that bitter blowhard before he damages the brand any further…give any one of the members of the 5, or fill in guests for the 5, his two spots at noon and 4 PST.
I don’t know about the rest of you but I watched something important, educational, entertaining and socially redeeming.
Dennis the Mennace on ABC Familly. Hannity, Rachel, Dr. Drew nor Piers come close to matching Walter Matthau and he’s dead. Besides the non-political kids prefer watching it even over CNN.
(Continued) or (I forgot to say…)
Geez, Trump could have WALKED to Fox News down NY’s Sixth Avenue from one of his Towers, or rode ONE subway stop south. (hee, hee). At least he would be in A Fox Studio, on camera, talking to Greta in Washington.

On a First Lady Michelle Obama’s clothes . Do you feel this is an appropriate way for a First Lady to dress?
To me it looks like a hooker’s attire.
