Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2012 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    It probably doesnt help that the Nikita episodes leak online since they air in Canada first and it’s going up against the Avengers premier. I’m actually shocked it didn’t decline. It’s still getting cancelled though.

  • Poweranimals

    Hopefully Nikita gets adjusted down.

  • Brandy

    I like Nikita, think Maggie Q is great and will be sad if Nikita’s cancelled but I don’t see how CW can renew it.Deadlines promoting it, there a lot of cw comercials for it Thurs & Fri,, the spy puzzle game, the convention it’s at,the cw prez is a fan,the set tour contest set for fall 2012, deadline reporting Nikita is on the bubble but still has a shot at renewal, tvline a couple weeks ago upgraded Nikita’s status to safe bet for renwal,the budget cuts this season may to be to make Nikita cheaper to make so it can come back next season all this makes me think it maybe renewed despite it terrible ratings.I don’t understand why they’d renew it:demo is terrible,demo second lowest rated on cw, it’s ratings won’t get better next season-they’ll continue to crash(I predict 0.2 or lower next season if renewed,it’s ad rates were the lowest last season and they’ll be much lower this season as they’re based on ratings, it’s loosing viewers very week,it’s total viewers are now about what the other cw shows do in total viewers,Nikita is one of the most expensive cw shows to produce according to Variety a few months ago,it isn’t a good fit with a cw show(Ringer or Arrow would be the match for it),it barley got renewed last year(a last minute renewal),it was on the bubble all this season, it doesn’t do good in DVr. I hear it does well internationally, but I’ve also heard in some countries it was cancelled or moved to very late night timeslots(11pm-2am).I ve head it does well in Netflix.I think the two reasons it got a season two are:1. Mark Pedowitz is a fan iveheard &he helped Dawn Ostroff pick this years shows 2.Hellcats, Life Unexpected,Shedding for the wedding got cancelled. People bash Dawn Ostroff for renewing GG despite declining ratings and are laughing at CW now cause GG will most Likley get a shortened final season but GG has yet to hit 0.4 and is in season five while Nikita has five 9.4 now and is in season two so I believe people will mock, laugh at, hate CW if Nikita gets renewed.Nikita had a second chance and bombed.While I think it’s a good/decent show, it dosent make business sense to renew it,especially since its still far away from syndication and would have to be renewed for two more seasons or if they renew it again but cancel it next year, why renew it?

  • Dahne

    Arguing about the quality of a show is pointless because it is all opinion no matter how much people want to pretend it is fact. And yes, I like Fringe so for ME it is a quality show. I know others who tried it and didn’t like it so for THEM it is not a quality show. All a matter of perspective.

  • Petar

    No dramatic drops for any shows like many people were expecting! That’s great that the movie didn’t really effect the ratings.

    @Val

    friday is graveyard! So movies effect the ratings a lot!

  • robin

    @Pete
    especially when TSC has been performing way better than nikita the whole season. it’s like nikita fans think that they won’t look at the entire season’s ratings before cancelling or renewing a show instead of only the past few episodes

    @cece
    I did rewatch the episode, twice!
    And I noticed the hand in chest/stomach thing.
    I thought angels were suppose to die with the white light and the black wings…Guess that only works with the angel’s blade or something.
    That black goo still baffles me, must be catchy.

  • psychic

    Who even cares?
    Fringe is renewed! No need to stress!

  • Dillan

    There’s no way Nikita will be renewed over TSC.

  • Petar

    “All scripted shows on the Big 4 networks dropped”

    hulk win again(smile)

  • Adrian

    Thank God Grimm didn’t drop to new lows, maybe it’ll be adjusted up like last weeks. Last night’s episode wasn’t as good as the last 2-3 weeks, but very good nonetheless.

    Awesome to see SPN go up, if it gets adjusted up as well it will be the first show (other than TVD) to get a 0.8 since February.

    I’m not worried since they’re both renewed but I want to see them go up not down.

  • peter

    Fringe is awesome. i dont care about the ratings.

  • Lindsay Fang

    @KS

    Poor Astrid got shot :(

  • cc

    Love Grimm. That’s all I got.

  • John A

    CW should cancel Nikita and TSC. Maybe give HOD the 13 episode pity season 2 renewel.

  • Brandy

    Also, like Fringe Fan said:ive seen lots of promotion on websites.Why would CW waste the money,time, effort, energy promoting now more than have all season if theyre going to cancel it?Im confused.

  • charlotte

    nikita………..wow people on here are stupid if you don’t watch the best show on cw…………with that said if nikita is cancelled I’m done with cw too…………………………
