I would like to hear now what the producer (or showrunner or whoever was who critiziced you for saying it was going to get canceled) has to say
Now is CSI: Miami and CSI: NY and Unforgettable on the list!
@Bright, I’m sure nothing. They never do.
Now just waiting on the official word for PAN AM being canceled – let’s put those 300,000+ fans on Facebook out of their misery!
This is like the 10th renewal or cancellation today! lol
How the f*ck the CBS cancels A Gifted Man and not Blue Bloods with the same ratings!
that was expected next is unforgettable then one of the csi’s
No surprise of course,
but I wish that networks would refrain from attempting to launch new dramas in the Friday at 8:00 (or even 9:00) slot.
Its been years since a breakout hit has debuted in this spot. The last true hit I can remember would be CSI: Las Vegas. Ghost Whisperer was probably the next closest.
This spot seems most fitting more either
1) a show on its last legs that has an established audience already and needs some additional episodes to reach the magic 88 (or 100 or whatever)
2) some kind of mindless cooking or reality show that basically serves as spackle (eg. Wipeout, Undercover Boss, etc)
A definitation of what constitutes success in this spot would be helpful. Is a 1.4 satisfactory? If not, what is?
“Body of Proof…looking likely to return” from the same article – thoughts?
Bright: plus, he didn’t really criticize us so much as misunderstand/misrepresent what we posted. He’s got a deal with CBS, he’ll be back!
Now can they announce Unforgettable’s renewal already?
Seriously, all these sudden spates of renewals and cancellations – it’s pretty much defeating the purpose of upfronts.
@Blu Blaaaaaaads
Because Blue Blood is able to pull over 2s on demographics on a Friday! A Gifted Man pulled like 1.3 avarage, that’s the difference. I can tell the advertisers are going to pay a lot more for Blue Bloods on season 3 than they did this season. That show is going to stay at least for two more seasons
@Matt: nothing official on that (or Scandal) yet, so it’s just fodder and with all the other news we don’t need fodder right now. I’d say there’s 100% chance we’ll know for certain by tomorrow night.
@tvfreak: a.) no it isn’t and b.) the flurry of pre-upfront announcements happens EVERY YEAR – at least since we’ve been running this site.
upfronts are for selling advertising.
This isn’t really a surprise.
Terrible show…Should have never canceled The Defenders got better ratings before CBS got cute and MOVED it…SHAME ON CBS!!
@Matt
Body of Proof is probably going to return since it brings in millions of dollars for ABC. It is also ABCs second most watched drama even though it sucks in the 18-49 demo.
My husband and I are extremely upset that The Gifted Man has been cancelled by the network. We thought it was a wonderful program. Bring it back!
I truly loved this show. It had so much substance. The story lines were so meaningful and touching. There are so many shows on TV that really suck but you keep them on the air but a show like this that was such a great show you cancelled it. So sad!
I like Body of Proof. I hope it returns
