LATE NIGHT TALK SHOW HOST Conan O’BRIEN TO VISIT CBS’s

Late Show with DAVID LETTERMAN,” THURSDAY, MAY 17

This Will Be O’Brien’s First Visit to the Late Show in 13 Years

CHEAT TWEET:  It’s a late night laughfest when @ConanOBrien visits @late_show Thursday, May 17, 11:35 pm ET/PT! http://bit.ly/JB0kxZ

Late night talk show host Conan O’Brien will make his first visit to the Late Show with DAVID LETTERMAN in 13 years when he appears on the broadcast Thursday, May 17 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

O’Brien succeeded Letterman as host of “Late Night” in 1993 after Letterman left the show to begin his Late Show on CBS.  O’Brien hosted “Late Night” until 2009, when he became host of “The Tonight Show” until January 2010.  In November 2010, he began another chapter in his career with the debut of his late night cable talk show, “Conan,” which he currently hosts.

This will mark O’Brien’s fifth visit to the Late Show.  He last sat down for an interview with Letterman 13 years ago, on Jan. 13, 1999.

Also featured on the LATE SHOW on Thursday, May 17 are musician John Mayer, who will be sitting in with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra, and a performance by musical guest Regina Spektor.

The LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated.  Barbara Gaines, Matt Roberts, Jude Brennan, Maria Pope, Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.

  • André

    Awesome sauce.

  • Ryan Schwartz

Awesome! Going to try and go!!

  • Jeff (Canada)

You know what would have been REALLY bold? If Leno had Conan on as a guest. Just imagine the ratings!

  • Diana Santiago

Jeff, that’s never going to happen. Rapists don’t get a lot of visits from victims.

  • Gary Middleton

Just when I thought the Conan victimhood complex couldn’t get ratcheted up any further…

  • Jeff (Canada)

    @Diana

    Stockholm Syndrome? ;)

  • Diana Santiago

YEAH ME! I KICKED IT UP A NOTCH!

Gary, sarcasm is funny. You should broaden your comedy options. Watching too much Leno dulls the funny bone.

@Jeff: I’m sorry to disappoint you, but Jay Leno has a restraining order against Conan, because Team Coco are a bunch of terrorists. ;)

  • Hector

Wow, I figured he would have gone on before his TBS show debuted.

  • Hector

They should forget the other guests….I’d listen to Conan and Letterman for a full hour.

  • JB

Wasn’t there a clause with his buyout from NBC that prevented him from going on other shows? I guess it finally expired

  • Diana Santiago

That clause expired a long ago, JB. Actually, Conan appeared on Jimmy Fallon last year.

  • Brody

This outta be good. They both were screwed by NBC.

  • Anantha

Wow it would be ummm… All I can say is I do not want to be babysitting these two when they whine all night long. Wow remember once Letterman used to say someone as the hardest working comedian in show business. Good old days when leno can be a guest with just a TV guide

  • Brad

I’m with you Hector. Conan had a month of so to legally be on television before his premiere on TBS. you’d think he would’ve promoted his show on The Late Show and had an intriguing interview with Letterman. I think he was still too hurt. Bill Carter wrote that Conan was struggling with it all, trying to coup, while he was already taping his show.

  • Brad

As someone pointed out on another website:
“Why? Is Conan’s ratings that bad that he has to use network television’s talk shows to his advantage and plug his own show.” LMFAO!!! So True!!!
