Update: Also no surprise: in addition to Once Upon A Time, ABC has renewed Castle, Revenge, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, The Middle, and Suburgatory too.

The fates of other shows haven't been determined yet though we'll be a little surprised if Happy Endings, Private Practice, and Apt 23 aren't renewed (and more than a little surprised if Body Of Proof is). Based on previous years, I'd guess most, if not all of the ABC renewals and cancellations will be out of the way by the end of the day Friday.

original post:

Once Upon A Time executive producer and co-creator Adam Horowitz just tweeted the following:

It's official -- #OnceUponATime has been picked up for season 2. Thank you all so much for watching, we're beyond thrilled to continue on!

Another one that wasn't ever in doubt. No word on the episode order yet, but it's surely a full season. Finally an ABC renewal!

WHOO HOOO! OUAT and Revenge have been renewed! I hope GCB and Scandal are the next to be renewed :)

I Hope the Ninth Season of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ will be last.
This Show was good during its 4 first Seasons but now it becomes borring and repetitive.

Nice to see a few shows that I watch picked up (a first for me this week).

No surprise, but way to go Grey’s!

I love all of ABC’s shows so i’m not surprised they all got renewed. Lets hope ABC will cancel none of them (including Body of Proof)

My boss, who isn’t a huge fan of fantasy-type shows, LOVES Once Upon a Time, so he’ll be very happy. Grey’s has improved this season in it’s quality, but like Dean_W, I would like to think the next season will be the end–there’s no way to realistically keep this cast in Seattle now they’ve all passed their Boards. Maybe since the season finale shows a plane crash, the majority of next season will be these characters healing from their injuries, and then they all leave for Hopkins and Mayo and wherever else they’re going.

    Fingers crossed for Scandal!

@Mary “ @Mars, I’m sure that if NBC was successful they wouldn’t be using the time-share method. The only reason they’re doing it now is because they’re desperate. They don’t have any bona fide hits. I’m sure if they had a huge hit, they’d schedule it for a full 22 episode season.”

I agree. I think NBC is throwing a Hail Mary, Going For Broke, Thinking Out Of The Box.
NBC is clearly stating that they do not believe in any of their shows and they want all new shows on the NBC network. The only show that is safe is The Voice. NBC is tired of being in fourth place and the only way to for it to be competitive is to throw out all the old shows and bring in new ones. And when you look at their ratings, trends and total viewers, this is a good strategy; NBC does not have much to lose at this point.

Next Fall, Any show can be replaced at Any time at NBC. Look at all the shows that were renewed for 13 to 15 episodes (even Parenthood). Basically all NBC are filler for time slots, until NBC can find shows to replace them.

    woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I hope they renew PP soon. Yeah for Revenge and no surprise at all for the other shows. I wonder if they’ll move much around?

The Middle, Modern Family, and Grey’s Anatomy being featured ahead of REVENGE and Suburgatory is just wrong.

Freshman renewals would attract more interest, in my opinion.

    #Revenge

I thought Suburgatory was safe once Cougar Town went to TBS.

Still think both Happy Endings and Apt 23 make it.

I think GCB comes back, but in a different timeslot.

All great renewals, except I’ll only be watching one of these shows, but still good regardless.

Once again, Nathan Fillion proves there is not “Firefly curse”! :-)

Yay for Revenge. We get another season of delicious machinations and hot babes! :-)

And I suppose it’s cool that OUAT will be back. I don’t mind watching that one even if it doesn’t compel me to. It’s done reasonably well, and plenty of babes on that show, too.

  • Richard Steven Hack

Oh, and since Grey’s was renewed after Summer Glau has been on several episodes, there’s no “Summer Glau” curse, either! Bwhahahaha! :-)

Revenge fans if you are interested in another show about a woman’s search for justice against those who wronged her, then tune into Nikita on the CW tonight at 8 pm or watch Nikita at cw.com!
