‘THE GAVIN NEWSOM SHOW’
DEBUTS FRIDAY, MAY 18 WITH TOUR DE FRANCE WINNER LANCE ARMSTRONG AND GOOGLE’S MARISSA MAYER
Weekly Series, Airing 10 PM ET/7 PM PT To Feature Opinion Segment Entitled ‘Just Gavin’
New York, May 10, 2012 – “The Gavin Newsom Show” will premiere on Current TV on Friday, May 18th at 10pm ET/7pm PT. Lance Armstrong and Google’s VP of Location and Local Services, Marissa Mayer, will be the guests on the first show.
Also scheduled in the weeks ahead: Filmmaker Oliver Stone; Michelle Rhee, former chancellor of Washington, D.C. public schools and founder of Students First; Elon Musk, founder of PayPal, SpaceX and Tesla Motors and Chairman of SolarCity; Vinod Khosla, co-founder of Sun Microsystems and head of Khosla Ventures; and Tony Bates, CEO Skype.
Each installment of the hour-long, weekly talk show, will feature two one-on-one interviews with notables from Silicon Valley, Hollywood and beyond. In addition, every episode will include a two – three minute segment entitled, “Just Gavin,” where Newsom will discuss his views on the issues of the day.
“The Gavin Newsom Show” will repeat on Saturdays at 2am, 11am and Sundays at 10am, 8pm. All times Eastern. The series is executive produced by Mia Haugen, a former executive at The Street, Forbes and CNN.
Gavin Newsom was elected as the 49th Lieutenant Governor of the State of California on November 2, 2010. His top priorities are economic development and job creation, improving access to higher education, and maintaining California’s environmental leadership. In 2011, Newsom worked with a variety of stakeholders to create a comprehensive economic blueprint for the state of California. Newsom came from a successful background in the private sector, starting 17 small businesses and creating more than 1,000 jobs, and local government, having served as both Mayor of the City and County of San Francisco and, before that, as a County Supervisor.
