Update 5: I think I might have jumped the gun on Mistresses earlier, but it has now officially been picked up.
Update 4: And Reba McEntire's Malibu Country.
Update 3: and drama 'Last Resort' from Shawn Ryan.
Update 2: also drama '666 Park Avenue'
Update: ABC has also picked up comedy 'How To Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Live' - let's hope they shorten that before the season starts!
ABC has picked up two comedies --'The Family Tools,' and 'The Neighbors' -- along with the dramas 'Nashville,' 'Red Widow,' and 'Zero Hour.'

Please fkn ABC pick up Mandy Moore pilot and devious maid
Confused, why specify 13 eps for new shows? Aren’t all shows picked up for 13, then possible back 9 if rate high?
Usually its always 13 unless otherwise specified.
yay for Mistresses! Now that is a Desperate Housewives-esque show! GCB was pretty much a sitcom with its corny premise and jokes.
Yaaaaawwwwn
@Robert Seidman
I think I might have jumped the gun on Mistresses earlier, but it has now officially been picked up for 13 episodes.
ABC gave it a blind series commit. I think the only issue was whether or not it would stay a summer series or be moved up.
@SteveO, fair point!
@SteveO
That’s because some shows are being picked up for less; Red Widow, for example, only has an 8 episode order and I read in one place that Zero Hour’s order is for 11 episodes.
@JG, yes, but THOSE SHOWS should be the ones with ep #’s next to them, not the ones with 13, cause then its assumed. You see what I mean?
“GCB was pretty much a sitcom with its’ corny premise and jokes.” So true. The show really was a comedy and not a very good one at that.
ABC’s new shows interest me far more than NBC. I’m glad ABC didn’t feel compelled to pick up Beauty & The Beast just because Once Upon A Time was a success. Beauty should do fine on CW. I am most excited about 666 Park Ave. It sound creepy but so intriguing. And I love Terry O’Quinn and Vanessa Williams. Sunday @9pm will be the best slot for the show. I love Andre Braugher return to broadcast TV. Along with Park Ave, Last Resort is a departure from ABC’s more soapy dramas. It gives the network more diversity.
Hurray for Reba and “Malibu Country”!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait!!!!!!! Goooo Juliette!!!!!
Devious Maids probably didn’t test well just like Cherry’s Hallelujah last year that’s why it was passed on. And they have Mistresses to possibly fill the void DH will leave
The Smart One?
Actually ABC Ordered Mistresses to series with a blind commitment order without seeing a pilot last month
I can clearly see why Alyssa Milano is one of those few actresses i can watch on tv and never get sick of!
Yay for 666 Park Ave and The Last Resort!
LAST RESORT!
americana and scrouples????????
I’m SHOCKED that Beauty & The Beast wasn’t picked up. That would have gone GREAT following Once Upon A Time on Sundays. I hope they pick up Gotham. So far the only pilot that I’m interested in is Last Resort.
Where are my Devious Maids!!!!
I don’t know how well audiences will respond to The Neighbors. Are people eager to see men giving birth? It is going to have to be done very well just like the quality comedy 3rd Rock from the Sun. First of all it is going to be a singlecam. So already this is going to be a challenging feat. If the tone of the show is too serious it has the potential to crash and burn.
While I like the new drama offerings on ABC, the comedies don’t impress me that much. I will give Malibu Country a try. I really like Lily Tomlin. But HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE sounds boring. I’m not impressed with the cast. I am not a huge fan of Brad Garrett. I find him to be overrated. But feel he would be more suited in The Munsters remake. I’m not eager to see him in another comedy.
