No surprises, and some of these fall into the "now more canceled than ever" category, but NBC confirms it has canceled  'Awake, 'Are You There Chelsea,' 'Best Friends Forever,' and 'Bent.' For semantic purists, that's canceled as in definitely won't be back next season as opposed to 'Awake' being yanked off the schedule for next week.

No word yet on Harry's Law...

@were123: Tell me about it! I mean, how come Cougar Town gets so easily saved by cable but good shows like Awake, Terra Nova, Alcatraz, Jericho don’t?

Oh well. Just so long as Killen neatly wrapped up the storyline in episodes 12 and 13, I’ll be fine…yeah, totally not going to happen. :(

    “You’re destroying a sacred song!”
-Michael Britten, from Awake episode 1.11 “Say Hello To My Little Friend” (and let that be a lesson to Glee; STOP DESTROYING THE MASTERWORKS OF CLASSIC ROCK!!! ;) )

no shocks here, shame about awake and intresting idea but the people who are drawn to shows like awake grenerall likea more serialized story like lost, but awake when down the road of procedual which ruined it uniquness

Chelsea was good raunchy fun, if it was paired with 2 Broke Girls on CBS it would have done a 3.0+ easy. I’ll miss seeing Laura Prepon and Lauren Lapkus.

Harry’s Law will be renewed, probably not for a full season. But, NBC knda needs it..

  • Brent

Stupid NBC! Awake was a great show and is just getting to the meat of the story. Thanks NBC!

  • Bright

I’ve read at deadline that NBC is over picking up pilots and is passing on the remaining, and I asked this, can they afford to pick up just 5 new dramas?? some of them might bomb in the first weeks.
Beautiful People is produced by ABC Studios.. they could pick it up. It “was” my favourite pilot premise :(

  • RobertN

    Renew Chuck!

  • Cliff Macke

Did NBC own AWAKE or can it perhaps find life on Cable?

  • TVDude

No surprises here. So far, both Bill and Robert have been spot on. If only the fate of HL would come out… They probably won’t reveal it until tomorrow or the day after and it will just quietly not be on the schedule. Kind of like Heroes a couple years ago.

  • Dean_W

When we will know about the fate of the remaining CBS’s Shows ?

  • ray

renew chuck please, maybe for like another 10 years,or if thats too much,9.99 will be fine,

  • DaisiesDeathKnell

I just figured it out! Harry’s Law will move to USA. Think about it. Strong viewership numbers and a demo that’s not too bad for cable. That’s what’s taking so long!

  • The End

    @Bright

Hate to sound crude but the Harry’s Law deadline story is a load of crap and should be ignored. They have no source because quite simply the show hasn’t been renewed yet.

Are U There Chelsea had potential but I have said it before. Laura Prepon is a lousy actress. IMO she killed it..

  • Jake

    “Noooooooo!” – Said no one.

  • _JC

*sigh*. Expected, but disappointing. The one show from last year’s upfronts that actually looked interesting, and that I was looking forward to, and it was pretty much DOA. Please get your $#*! together, NBC.

Looks like Revenge (guilty pleasure) is the only network drama from 2011 that I’ll still be watching next season (with H50 and Blue Bloods the only ones from 2010)…please gimme some good dramas next season.

  • DW

Feels like they are working out a deal with Harry’s law. Either keeping it or letting TNT have at it.

  • Tony ^_^

    I’ll miss Chelsea! :o But at least there’s more Whitney! ^_^ :)

  • marc

that’s too bad but expected. At least we got the full 13 episodes (and most of them were pretty good!) looking forward to the last two episodes.
