CW picked up five new dramas to series, a record for the CW. Arrow, Carrie Diaries. Cult, First Cut and Beauty And The Beast have all been ordered to series.

I’m very surprised indeed they didn’t pick up The Selection, seeing as it supposedly is to Hunger Games as Vampire Diaries is to Twilight, and TVD is the only show they have that even gets a 1.0 now…
I’d have been much, much more surprised if it wasn’t for the fact this is a pretty clueless network we’re talking about.
Between that and the Nikita renewal (which is effectively for two seasons!), The CW deserves all the ratings they’re going to get – very few. Regardless of the shows’ televisual merits (which are subjective), that’s just bad business right there.
Interesting. I thought The Selection would be a safe bet. Granted I didn’t see the pilot, but unlike a lot of the shows they have/had in the works, I was at least curious about it.

I’ve found the writing of Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg (two of the key people involved with Arrow) to be quite bad when I’ve encountered it in the past. Perhaps this project will be better, but I’m not optimistic.
Cult sounds promising though.

POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT FOR FIRST CUT ARROW OR CARRIE DIARIES: SHELTER
The Carrie Diaries will suffer from the demographic squeeze: young watchers will be turned off by the 80s setting, older watchers will be turned off by it being a soap aimed at a young audience.
I will be stunned if it succeeds.

I totally agree. I think the network is expecting their next big hit with that one but I doubt they’ve thought it through. Unless they’ve put some really cool spin on the 80s young-in’s won’t be interested.

The worst idea for a show EVER. I’m sure only 1 of these shows will survive next year. Lots of 0.4 0.5 demos probably.

I suppose a couple of these could be good but none of them stand out as a potential flagship show for cw.
If Justin Hartley was playing Oliver Queen in Arrow I would already be a fan, but will have to wait and see. Will give it at least 3 eps. Looking forward to Matt Davis in Cult, loved my Alaric.
Five new shows for the CW to cancel. I would normally throw in an lol instead of a period there but frankly I’m so tired of the CW I wish CBS and Warner Brothers would just pull the plug on the whole network and get it over with..no lol there either.

Arrow: Please, let this be a big succes for the CW.
Beauty & the Beast: It could flop, but I’m hoping It won’t.
Cult: I think this show, besides Arrow, has the best chance of being succesful.
First Cut: Just like with HOD, It will probably be the “underdog” of the new CW dramas.
The Carrie Diaries: This show will flop big time.
why they have to cancel the secret circle and ringer? They are so good to watch.
