Update: NBC confirms that Harry's Law is cancelled. Let the "will Harry's Law be shopped to another network" talk begin!

According to Kathy Bates twitter feed, Harry's Law has been canceled:

Yea, Tweeters. Sad news today. Harry's Law will not be renewed for a 3rd season. We are all terribly sad. Many thanks for all your support.

Just finished watching Harry’s Law and once again, it was sensational. I cannot believe Harry Corn has only one hour left. But anyway, I contacted NBC about their decision. Maybe if enough viewers let their feelings be known to NBC, Harry’s Law could be saved. Stranger things hsve happened.

  • Dick Bond

As someone who’s been watching TV since 1948, I am hard pressed to remember a better series.

One of the very best shows on television. Great writers and actors. Made some excellent social statements and when, historically checking what people like in America ? When Roseanne is number one ? ….a no brainer there.
Will sorely miss this show and its star, Kathy Bates. Thank you Kathy for a great run. Now…? Sell shoes ?

We loved Harry’s Law and never missed an episode. Kathy Bates is a first rate actress and the show dealt with some very recent and relevant topics, i.e., sports injuries, band hazing etc. Apparently the network believed in it enough to put it against The Good Wife. I am sick and tired of good shows competing with each other until one is eliminated while most evenings there is nothing but garbage Whitney stays and Harry’s Law cancelled? Someone needs a new CEO.

Harry’s Law was still evolving into a better and better program. It had a large viewer base consisting mostly of those of us who have been around for most of TV’s history. The problem is, WE aren’t valued by NBC anymore. We are part of a demographic (over 45) that “doesn’t count” or put another way, isn’t wanted.

Over 8 Million of us watched the program every week, a good number. The problem, according to NBC, is we are not their “target audience” for selling ads. We are too old to count. It’s not only an insult for having supported a program, it’s a slap in the face if you’ve been supporting TV for 30 -50+ years. Please, please, please remember this and don’t just let it slide by.

I didn’t agree with the liberal messages but this was another entertaining David Kelley production. I hope someone picks it up

I happen to love the show Harry’s Law. But in today’s world of television if the show is not a reality show or a vampire show, its not going to make it. We have so many reality shows, why the need for so many? Can’t people live their own lives instead of watching what others do just to earn a dollar? Its a sad way to live.

  • Holly

But in today’s world of television if the show is not a reality show or a vampire show, its not going to make it.

…There are two vampire shows on TV right now (and 1-2 more that have at some point had a vampire for an episode or two but aren’t actually about them)…

Law shows, on the other hand, abound on both network and cable.

this was very good program. nbc bad mistake. hope harry,s law is picked up buy another network.

  • Nancy

I am very disappointed, I enjoyed this show. I wish they would of canceled a few others which didn’t deserve to be on the air.

  • spade

who is the ceo, must be the same one with JPMorgan Chase & Co,bring it back. I will watch CBS more.

  • willie

http://www.nbc.com/contact/general/?__status=1 //// please write to nbc here and let them know how awful it was to cancel harry’s law.. tku,.

  • Inge

Unbelievable! Harry’s Law is the best show on TV. Why not get rid of some of the numerous Reality TV shows and leave this decent show on for those of us who love Kathy Bates!!!?

  • Jim

PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT WE CAN DO TO TRY AND SAVE THIS SHOW!!!!!
It is so refreshing and topical and last night’s episode was the best of all. Its so different and Kathy Bates is excellent. This is wrong..her cast has improved and I love everyone of them!
I’m 60 years old, gay professional..does that count for anything? I really want to do a petition so SOMEONE will pick up this show and it’s current cast. So tired of the other SUV VICE SIU Crap…this is such a shame. Please, please don’t cancel this show..I live in Miami so I’ll petition around here if you need me too..anything! I look so forward to watching this show..and don’t watch much network tv..

One of my favorite shows!!! I love it. Hope it goes to another network. I love Kathy Bates & her whole cast. Her attitude is the best. “Don’t give a damn, unless it counts” I am very upset about them cancelling this great show.

  • Ron Esquerra

Another sad note for the collective intelligence drain in the TV market. A well written, topical David Kelly series with engaging characters and hard hitting storylines goes the way of the dodo so we can all lap up more useless reality shows. Hope another network picks it up or maybe it goes cable, far too well written to lose.

  • Donna

I am so mad. I loved Harry’s Law. I am not watching NBC anymore

  • Lora

R u kidding!!!???!!! What, was it not mindless enough? It’s a great show with value for ADULTS!! NBC, I hope your over all rating TANK, starting TONIGHT!!! The one new show within the last year I love! Sad, sad, sad!

  • joan

One of the best shows on tv this season. Is NBC serious? Is it because there is not enough sex and violence? It undoubtedly is one of the best written shows, has a great cast, has good story lines, is not too schmaltzy, keeps us entertained, etc. What could be the problem here? Why not give us more ridiculous “real” TV, or more inane comedies, or another news program.

  • kathy feigenbaum

how can you cancel the best show on the air. everyone on the show brings something, so much talent.
Kathy Bates is the best actor on tv! My husband and i look forward to it every week. yet, you leave on some horrible shows. like, reality shows with people screaming at each other also, shows, gruesome killings and lots of detectives
trying to solve a crime. They are all the same. this one has it all lots of talent and Kathy bates is fabulous!!!
best writers, every week is completely different it leaves you a good feeling when it is over. we are so disappointed
and sad. also, all of my friends and family love the show. this is the first time i have every wrote to a show. that’s
    how bad we feel.
    signed, sad lady
