Update: NBC confirms that Harry's Law is cancelled. Let the "will Harry's Law be shopped to another network" talk begin!

According to Kathy Bates twitter feed, Harry's Law has been canceled:

Yea, Tweeters. Sad news today. Harry's Law will not be renewed for a 3rd season. We are all terribly sad. Many thanks for all your support.

Yet another reason why good tv shows are run by imbecile tv executives. Harry’s law was great tv and the reason it’s cancelled is because the network apparantly does not like it’s older viewership. The cast was excellent and the writing was ingenious it looks like NBC got it wrong again, weighing comedies over dramas.
Maybe they need fresh executives not fresh shows.

NBC you should be ashamed of yourself. Surely there are advertisers who would be happy to get the over 49 group. DEPENDS where are you when we need you. Love Harrys Law.

  • Doug

I knew that harry’s law was in it’s last season.

When a network moves a show to a different time slot,
that show is on the way out.

Grest show. If the advertisers don’t like the age bracket, find new sponsors! Get rid of some of the overdone reality shows and keep Harry.

Bill Gorman said (on May 11th)

    “Continued wishful thinking.

I’m sure there was another reason why HL got its season order extended (probably very mechanical/logistical), but I’m also sure we’re unlikely to find out what it was.”

It’s not wishful thinking, I have no horse in the race. I agree that there’s some reason, perhaps it’s something else, but absent any of us having that knowledge then I prefer to go with that theory so that we can at least have something concrete to point to.

    And I just cancelled NBC!!

Harry,s Law was one of the few show that had, comedy and some intelligence appearing on the regular channels. All we are left with are the reality shows and sports. This is way so many people are turning to cable that offer a high caliber of tv viewing. Very Sad in Michigan

NO!…this show is the most intelligent, thought provoking, imaginative, humorous show on TV….(the 18-49ers) have enough of their shows…
Please bring this show back…Or: some other station pick it up…
I think every show that has David Kelley’s name to it is perfect..
And: Kathy Bates is brilliant in this role..
Cmon: someone pick it up for us 50 and above crowd..

This is horrible news. Harry’s Law is quality television, the best show on TV. I add my voice to those DEMANDING NBC to renew Harry’s Law.

  • RON

    HARRY’S LAW………….my favorite show cancelled???????
Shame on you, NBC. No wonder you don’t have anyone watch your channel.
Please CBS, ABC, FOX pick it up.

  • David

NBC…………….CLOSE DOWN. YOU ARE RUN BY MORONS

  • CatChef

No NO NOOO I love ‘Harry’s Law’ :(
Kathy Bates and other actors do a great job. I hope they are all picked up on another station. I’ll be looking for it!

  • De Moody

Harry’s Law: One of the best shows in years!!! What’s up with you people??

  • lindakay

Once again, I am deeply disappointed with television. Harry’s Law, a deep thinking, great story lines and magnificent acting gets cancelled. Yet, the Kardasians keep running as well as Bachorette. Good grief.

Unfortunately, total viewers don’t matter to advertisers. This is a terrible mistake. Any marketing professional knows that the older population is the fastest growing demographic due to the baby boomers. These people are more likely to own their homes and have higher disposable incomes. The problem is you have a bunch of out-of-touch people running these advertising companies as well as the television stations. Instead of trying to get out ahead of the trend, they are content to sit around and play the same old games. When the value of the older generation in advertising is finally recognized all of these people will be playing catch-up. Hopefully it gets shopped to a new station and some advertiser out there realizes that this is a big area of opportunity.

Harry’s Law was one of the few excellent shows left on T.V.
The characters were all great and storylines awesome. The show always
had a moral and the team of lawyers were always doing good for others.
there are so many shallow, meaningless shows it’s a real shame this
one had to go. I know many peeps that will truly miss it.

  • rick

I love the show and I love Harry!! I hope another Network picks the show up!!

  • J. Nelson

You cancel the good shows and keep the crap. What kind of moron is running the network?

  • mj

Well, I have finally figured it out. If you watch a show, get hooked & you are a die hard fan, it gets cancelled. They always cancel the good ones.I just don’t undestand how they come up with these tactics. It makes no sense at all. I guess I need to take up reading!!!

  • Char

Sad that a good show has been cancelled. So many been cancelled this year, but they are bringing junk on. I guess if it is not realality tv it must be canacelled
