Update: NBC confirms that Harry's Law is cancelled. Let the "will Harry's Law be shopped to another network" talk begin!
According to Kathy Bates twitter feed, Harry's Law has been canceled:
Yea, Tweeters. Sad news today. Harry's Law will not be renewed for a 3rd season. We are all terribly sad. Many thanks for all your support.

I’m really confused. I’ve been following Kathy’s tweets and understood that Harry’s Law was totally safe due to is gazillion overall viewers number, which we all know is just as important as the demo figure right? No matter what that nasty site TVBTN’s says on the subject.
Now I’ll have to change my whole world view again and I only just got used to the world being round.
@Drew: Yes of course! But FOX will no 3rd season
But Mark Valley can back to Fringe
I’ve just read this thread and am also to understand, from SJ, that the world won’t end this year either. That’s about the last disappointment I can take for today.
That was the smart choice
no surprise, I can’t think how anybody thought this was going to be renewed.
“no surprise, I can’t think how anybody thought this was going to be renewed.”
And yet Variety, and Deadline.com were both spinning false fan hope in recent weeks. Deadline as recently as yesterday!
Yet they keep “Whitney”, where even the laugh track chuckles reluctantly….
There is NOOO rhyme or reason for this!! How can a show be one of the Top 3 shows on a network in a total viewers and be cancelled because of low 18-49??? That’s ridiculous!!!
All hail Robert and Bill….the system works.
@ Joshman
Don’t diss Whitney if you haven’t even really watched the show when it improved. I hate it that Harry’s Law didn’t return either but don’t take it out on Whitney as it has nothing to do with that show. Blame NBC for being too cheap to keep it around.
That’s really too bad I guess people rather mindless sitcoms !!
@ NJTaurian
It’s ridiculous how badly the demo system has messed up broadcast television. Had viewers mattered more television would be in a much better state right now.
The thing is NBC sucks so much that they’re not going to get better numbers with anything else !!! This was the only show I watched on that horrible station !!
Sad, this was the only NBC scripted show I watched. I’m surprised it got cancelled with such high viewership. I guess Kathy Bates deserved it for pissing off the cancellation bear. Ha.
Haha
The level of denial from some of the posters is amazing. Total viewers is a meaningless number and until there is a drastic change in the way TV advertising works it always will be.
NBC the network of 2-4 million viewers. What a stupid network. Idiots to cancel a show with so many viewers. I can’t wait to see NBC fall even further to the depths of obscurity. They renew Parks and Community with 2.2 million viewers and only a 1.4 rating…..whatever.
Notice how NBC cancels more shows than any other network? Funny Hu?
Hats off to the cancellation bear!
