Fans of Nikita rejoice! It has been renewed for a third season. While Bill and I had it as more or less of a toss-up for renewal, our source was either flat-out wrong or things got un-bleak quickly. But for fans, all's well that ends well!
And it gets better for Nikita fans as a third season renewal practically guarantees there will be a fourth for syndication purposes.
Update: Hart Of Dixie has been renewed. No word yet on Secret Circle.
Both renewals are for full seasons of 22 episodes.
CW has also ordered five new dramas to series, and canceled Ringer and The Secret Circle while renewing Gossip Girl for a short final season.

Me too! I hope they d a bit of a revamp to have more stand alone episodes(more like a procedural).
I thought Season 1 was fantastic when it was more like a procedural. Season 2 has been heavily serialized so it would be hard for anyone to catch up with the series.
Craig said a major character will die in the finale and as much as I love to hate Percy, I’m hoping it’s him. It’s time for this cat and mouse game to end and start Season 3 with a fresh and new direction.
Nikita will fail miserably upon it’s return in the fall. I just about died when I saw that The CW renewed it for 22 episodes-I figured it would get 13 and then end. I can’t help but laugh at The CW’s decisions every year as they just get more and more ridiculous. I’ve decided to stay away from The CW’s shows from now on. I used to watch pretty much everything, but I’m not even going to give the new shows a chance. I will continue to watch The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, 90210, Gossip Girl, and Hart of Dixie until they end, but as for watching new programming, I absolutely refuse. Can’t wait for the CW to close it’s doors in a few years-unless they get a hit, they are never going to be able to survive.
Because obviously it’s impossible TSC didn’t get itself cancelled. Nope, it was all Nikita’s fault. That’s right, Nikita’s the reason why the TSC was cancelled, and all your moaning will change that.
The hatred is really hilarious. The more you bitch and whine that TSC was cancelled and blame it on Nikita, the bigger I smile. For real though, shut up and eat your balogna*.

I hope the CW schedule is announced before Thursday. They need a major overhaul. Things are clearly not working. They need to counterprogram ABC Family which always murders GG/HOD.
Dumping the aging ANTM/GG would be great, since that’s what Fridays are for, not for the 2nd biggest hit and an undiscovered gem.

As much as I’m happy for Nikita and HoD fans, but I’m sad at Ringer and TSC cancellation, they were pretty much the only shows I watched on the CW as I hate TVD, dropped GG in season 2, dropped SPN this season, I couldn’t get really attached to Nikita last season and 90120 and HoD aren’t my kind of shows.I may try Arrow next season. It’s a shame CW didn’t pick The Selection, I was looking forward to it.

The only problem with Nikita is that it is on the CW network…if it were on a serious network like Fox it would have a better writing team…as it is though it is one of the best shows on TV people are not watching, but instead are putting up with crap like Bones and a million CSI shows which all have been in the toilet thisyear. Nikita’s characters are strong and dimensional, and the weekly plots are intense. Michael and Nikita sizzle and so do Sean and Alex.Percy is a real villain you love to hate…Amanda is so Cruella> The twist with the CIA character is good, this show is GOOD. Better than all the vampire and witch teenie popper shows combined. Keep Nikita! Move to a better network!
Dear people repeatedly saying stuff like “haha, Nikita is gonna get 0.3′s and 0.2′s next year!”, as if saying it over and over again is going to make it true: here’s a bit of advice. All the hate is going to get you nowhere. You’ll probably be happier and enjoy life more if you focus on the things you love, not the ones you hate.
I was rooting for HoD, GG, TSC and Ringer to get cancelled insofar as it would have improved Nikita’s chances, but you NEVER saw me hating on them or mocking their fans. And now, you don’t see me rubbing salt in the Ringer and TSC fans’ wounds, or saying GG and HoD will hit 0.3′s and 0.2′s next year.
Also? Just a reminder. Seven or eight of the first ten episodes of Nikita’s season got 0.6′s, on Friday. (That’s when HoD, steadily getting 0.6 on Mondays, is practically a success for the CW now.) Its first 0.4 arrived in episode 16, after *three* hiatuses.

@Kitty, I think the ratings would be better if Nikita paired with The Vampire Diaries. The viewership was certainly better when they did that for Season 1 compared to Season 2 on Fridays with Supernatural.
Hopefully Nikita is moved to a better day than Friday and performs better.
